Thinking about getting one of these small tube warriors! The jet city 22 sounds awesome and I have a chance to buy one in town for $400. Very close to the marshall and soldano high gain brute. I also have a chance to play the ibanez before I buy it. I love the white look to it and how small it is. This is also 2 channels. Egnater also has some small wattage amps out like the tweaker. No tweakers in town but I here they are very good!

Which one should I go with? I play lots of post hardcore currently play out of a valveking. I usually put my amps on Treble 8 Mid 4 bass 7

Get the JCA22H. No contest...

Disagree, if you want anything like a clean channel get the Tweaker. Great pedal platform.

for what you're doing i'd probably go for the jet city

the tweaker is a cool amp tho, just don't think it can hit the kind of gainy tones you might be after

The jet city seems to be built very simple and convenient not to mention a loud 20 watts. If the tweaker was in town I would try it but for now my eyes are set on the jc.

I have and really like the Tweaker for all sorts of styles. Very versatile obviously. The jet city, though, may be more up your alley if you're focused on high gain sounds. That's not to say I don't enjoy what I can get out of the tweaker in the high gain dept.

The tweaker isn't a metal lunch box. though you can boost it. It's the most versatile of the three I'm sure. The JCA will be the heaviest, and the Ibanez is STUPiD good sounding man....but that amp is a VINTAGE amp..... it sounds vintage...I don't know how they made it, but I played that amp through an Ibanez hollowbody at NAMM and I was IN LOVE. get pretty gainy but NOT for hard rock/metal.......more like a saturated blues type of gain.

Not sure why ibanez would make a vintage sounding head when they make hard/metal guitars haha....I'm going to try it out anyways. The jca will be bought from a small business that have lots of trust in rather than the ibanez at a snob store.

Ibanez is big in the Hollowbody world :) check out their Artcore line. plus the TS pedals have been a clean/blues pedal icon for a long time.

I'd say Ibanez is a very balanced company

I'm sure if your being sarcastic lol...balanced company? I played an art series the other day and didn't like it at all compared tot he rgs.

Out of those 3, the JCA hands down. But if you throw in a 4th candidate: It'd have to be the Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18.
That thing is phenomenal, with great loop, xlr out, 18W-5W-1W-speaker off (xlr) modes. Boost on the overdrive that makes it so yummy. and a Roland JC-like clean channel.

Then it'd have to be the tubemeister. Do yourself a favor and play it!

Alright just tried the ibanez tsa 15 and was not satisfied at all. I was thinking it has a clean channel, dirty channel and then tube screamer option for both....nope looks cool and sounds good but not what sound I want. The hughes and kettner may be out of my price range amd no place has it where I'm from. Also tried the vox night train...very nice cleans and tingy yet nice distortion but not worth $350. Jca is still at the top.

Does anyone own a little head they like or dislike?

I knew it wasn't gonna be what you were after :)

it's not a hard rock/metal amp AT ALL.

Engl gigmaster is pretty awesome. It has the sound I most wanted out of the small heads I have tried or had. Needs a tube change but sounds good and pretty versatile.

Ya was pretty disappointed! Haha

now that little amp with a strat or a guitar with low output pups for pop/blues/light rock, is AMAZING.

Just bought a schecter c-1 brand condsh, body glove hybrid case and about 40 bucks in accessories. All for $150!!!! From good ol' craigslist. I think it will sound good with the jca22 when I get it.

Anybody play the marshall haze?

More pics tomorrow!
