So I bought a modded JCA20H a couple weeks ago. One of the mods is a saturation switch. Just wondering if it would be possible to build the sat switch into a pedal to put in front of the amp. Maybe with tone, level and drive controls or at least a volume control.

Actually, that's essentially what an overdrive pedal is. The Saturation switch is a diode bounding circuit that clips the signal at the end of the preamp. An overdrive pedal does the same thing in front of the amp.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that. It's just that engaging the sat switch is darker and bigger sounding as opposed to hitting the front end with a tube screamer.

Lots of differnt flavor of OD's. A TS is going to enhance mids and take away bottom end. I would choose something that you can contour the EQ if that's what you're looking for.
