Jcm800 headshell

I bought my old 2203 back from a friend who's had it a few years. Never noticed it didn't have a vent in the top. It's an '86. Could it have been put in a 50watt box at some point? Did they all have vents? No biggie, just never noticed and I know my friend didn't mess with it.

That might be a replacement headshell, the handle should be centered if original. And yes the 2203s all had vents to my knowledge, as have all 100w Marshalls.

Maybe it's just the angle but my 2203 is sitting right in front of me and the logo looks a little off-center too (too high).

Might be. The logo looks correct, but I'll take pics next to my 2204 on Monday. Damn I love these amps stock tho. Just a boost and about 3-4 on the master, and just destroys!

They are timeless! I love my new to me Wiz mtl, but a stock 2203/4 is in my future!

I feel like it's just a microphone to my playing. Just hands, guitar, and it sounds how I want it. Always come back to them.

Haha it's the handle we make Popsicles with for my daughter. You can see her little hand in one of the pics. She's a year and 3 months, and thinks my amps and guitar cases are just props for her to play on.
I keep a beater old Ibanez acoustic laying around the living room just for her to strum and play with.

Damn I forgot to take pics at practice last night. Both mine and my other guitarists 2204 have the same off centered handle. Must have been put in a 50watt box at some point over the years.
Ran out of a stereo chorus into both marshalls through 2 v-30 cabs was just crushing, though I couldn't really crank the masters at all. I'll try to get a short vid next week on my iPad or something.
