Current rig is to different voiced amps of mine. No bogners at all anymore.

saw them about a month ago. Jerrys tone killed. It was unbelievable really how great his setup sounded.

I caught them live earlier this year, and Jerry's sound was perfect.

Kinda miss Jerry's old sound to be honest.
Friedman's amps are not on the latest album FYI, he started using them live after that. I saw AIC late last year when he was running one Marsha and a Shiva and it was the BEST live guitar sound I've ever heard. EVER. And I've literally seen/heard hundreds of bands. It's that good.

Yes, I'm aware the Friedman amps aren't on the new album...my problem with the new album's tone has more to do with how it was compressed/limited than the gear used...I have seen Jerry live twice with the dual Marsha rig and he sounded killer as usual...didn't have quite the roar and wallop that his Uberschall rig did, but it was a great crunch and lead tone...the last time I saw AIC (Sept.) they played this amazing atmospheric intro...I hope they make it into a song.

I agree about Jerry always having killer tone. "A Looking In View" popped up on my mp3 list when I was reading this thread and every time I hear that song I'm just floored by the monstrous tone on that track.

I love that track...sounds like an Uberschall on 11 through a wall of speaker cabs...

My Mom found them on my hard drive and deleted them. She said as a 31 year old man I should be ashamed of myself.

Just kidding I am just waiting for my friend to reply that its OK to post the pics.

and here I was all thinking why a 31 year old was still living at home.

I saw AIC 3 times in the past year and their live sound was nothing but amazing on every occasion.
I was a BIG fan in the grunge years although I always preferred PJ (bite me   )
After seeing them both on the same festival, the same day earlier this year. AIC playing in the afternoon, PJ headlining.
I might have to give the edge to AIC. They still rock hard and their live tone sounds massive. PJ on the other hand also rocks but they have mellowed out a bit.

Anyway, I saw AIC in a club in Holland earlier this year and that was THE best sounding gig ever.
They are all running ISO-cabs, no cabs on stage anymore. Jerry is running HEIL PR-20 mics and blending them with Palmer DIs and his tone is massive.

Here you got some pure Cantrell tone.

With the mids, it sounds almost like a cocked wah at times. But it is smooth, very gainy but yet articulated with good string separation. My assumption is that the amp is rather bright and a lot of that mellowness and middyness comes from the guitar, but I might be wrong.

I first saw AIC open for Extreme, when man in a box was popular on MTV,his Marshall said Bogner on it,so back then info was hard to come by,no Internet etc, only guitar mags.
So Hafler came out with they're version of the Triple Giant, the 3 ch Bogner preamp. Not knowing any better I bought it thinking I could get Jerry's tone.
Man I wanted to cry,it was terrible. Lesson learned, don't copy, even though you can buy what he plays through,it's still HIS,and I doubt Dave would do a copy build,I could be wrong.
To this day I still chase his tone.

To me, that track sounds incredibley thick and heavy, all while using minimal gain.

Jerry is using two 50watt Marshas now.

Here is a recent crappy pic, I have more pics of his rig and "No War" guitar but I have to clear it with my friend before I post them. FYI there is a lot of pornography on the back of that Rampage, I am talking about double penetration so I wont post pics of it here.

Dimple top RFT EL34's? Perhaps JJ E34L's...
