Jet City anyone?

I've been kind of lurking about here to get the hang of how it works, and I have to say I'm glad to see the interaction with some of the manufacturers and that the boards embrace and encourage it by giving them their very own sections. That's amazing. And I know from HCAF that Doug, one of the partners from Jet City Amplification, greatly appreciates just that and is truly awesome in his dedication to his customers and potential customers. Granted, I'm a bit of a JCA fanboy but I'm sure The Eternal, The SockMonster, FastRedPonyCar and some others would agree.

Maybe the Mods could reach out to Doug and offer a welcome corner for them to call their own and for those of us that have them? :dunno:

Thought it was worth asking, I don't want to ruffle any feathers though being as I'm noob here. Anyone else think that would be cool?

I agree, and I sent Doug an email suggesting that he sign up here.. I hope that he comes around..

How are you liking the new JCA20H?
 
I haven't really had a chance to mess with it yet, I got it yesterday but I didn't get home until late and I've got a fantastic flu, so pretty much crashed.

Today though... different story. I get off work around twoish, then straight home and losing time. I'm sure it'll sound great with all of the cotton in my head. :lol: :LOL:
 
I'm gassing so hard for the JAC50H I do a google shopping search for it every morning. :lol: :LOL: The moment they're available I'm buying one.

They are currently in production so they should be available in a month or so. Maybe sooner...
 
Man, those things are cheap! $799 for the JCA100H? Crazy!

I am guessing that they are made in China? Not that I care, just wondering how they can be so inexpensive.

yup chinese, same SLO circuit with a few changes, seems ripe to mod back to SLO spec and add some mercury Iron for the poor mans SLO.
 
played the 20, sounded awful to me. played the 100, sounded awesome, especially with a boost. looking back im pretty sure there was soemthing wrong with the 20.
 
The 20 I played that sold me on it was incredible. Bear in mind, I'm comparing to other smallish mini stacks out there. It was just head and shoulders above the rest. I'm really itching to get mine opened up and cranked.

Yeah, I know, they posted pics of them on their Facebook. I'm just waiting for them to hit the online retailers so I can order. ;)
 
I hope Doug finds his way here. He was a model citizen at HCAF as far as builders go, and he would be an asset no matter where he is.
 
Got home, had some time to fool around with the amp and... :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I just love this thing. And it does, truly, love the pedals. Gonna go play some more. :rock:

I face-booked him and I believe that he will be over here eventually.. He just left for China today and will be there for two weeks. Jet City is very hands on with their production. Even Soldano has been there a couple times I think. Mike personally listened to the different transformers that could have been used in the JCA amps and picked them out himself. The serial # on my 100H ends with "0009" I got the 9th 100H built. :thumbsup: It's built like a tank.

According to Doug, the circuits for the JCA100H are the same as the Soldano Hotrod 100.. Obviously the transformers and some of the parts are different, but apparently Soldano picked out the transformers and stamped his approval on the other parts.... My JCA100H kicks ass... :rock:
 
I think that would be a great idea, they definitely deserve a forum here I think. I love my 20 watter
 
How is the hiss and noise on the 100? I think this might be my next amp.

It's not bad at all. Compared to the volume coming out the front of the cab, it practically non-existent. In other words very little noise I have noticed..

If it didn't say "Made in China" on the back, you would think otherwise..

The SLOs tranny is DeYoung, not Mercury. Just FYI.
