i've been using an sd-1 for a solo boost and rolling the volume knob back to clean it up a bit. i do think the afterburner would turn this amp into something approaching three channel happiness. 
put the luxury drive after the afterburner and there's the dial in girth. heck.. i might not even need it. i was a bit concerned that i might get some microphonics going on with the pre's when i used the luxury drive because it's a combo.. and this pedal really adds some clean.. fat meat.. but thankfully that didn't happen.
