I am dying to get my hands on one of these and see how it fits in with the band. Been on a low watt amp kick for a while now. Any new info on these heads? Are they shipping soon?

I know as soon as I pop for a 20h the 22h will hit the shelves

My local dealer has one on the way, supposed to be here next Tuesday. Really looking forward to checking it out.

Thank YOU for reminding me.

We could go pester the ampmaker forum. They never respond though. All I ever officially heard was a price of $400, which is more than I hoped but worth it.

It seems like a good fit for me. GAS for a JCA amp, plus GAS for a 15-20 watter. I need to start digging on this one again. It's good to hear at least someone has one on the way.

So it's definitely out. I lost track. Probably have to call stores to find out when it comes in.

that sounds pretty great in that clip, I am assuming though it doesn't come with a loop?

IS LOOP, NO LEVEL ADJUSTER, BUT LOOP

I'm totally just stealing this stuff from harmony central, where the youtube guy posted it.

I believe it's the same serial loop that is on the 50H, 100H, etc. Jet City is really stepping up their game and putting out amps that tonally outperform amps that cost 4x as much. Can't wait to get my own 22H!!!

I wonder how this will compare to the modded JCA20Hs out there, and will this end up being another starting point for additional mods, whatever they my be?

I'm sure the BE mod would make this a MONSTER. I wonder if you could do a BE/HBE since you have the two channels? Who needs a clean channel anyway??

My BE/SAT/Looooop JCA20 was killer. Not a better amp anywhere in the price class.

Chris, who did the mods on your JCA20? It looks like that configuration is available from Tome Merchants....

Excuse my ignorance, but, what's the difference in the 20 & 22 ???

I'm just discovering these amps too. I think if you follow the link http://www.jetcityamplification.com/2011/02/16/jca22h/ , you can see the differences described in the summarry of the 22H. There is also a link for the JCA20 as well. I wonder if it would make more sense to get one of these, or get a JAC20H with the BE/Loop/Sat mods?

I actually think I'm jumping off the 22H bandwagon.

From what I've heard, you really don't get any more clean headroom with the 22H. You just get the lead channel from the higher watt models. The higher watt models got their clean headroom from more watts (duh) and using different tubes. I was actually hoping the 22H would represent some of the clean headroom of it's bigger brothers. Those EL84 tubes break up quickly though, and it doesn't sound like they revoiced the 'normal' channel at all. People are calling it 'clean,' but I don't think there is a bit more headroom than the 20H.

So for me, I wanted to use this as a two channel amp, which won't work because I don't need a 'crunch' and a 'lead' channel. It had to come out before I could make up my mind. If I'm going to cure my Jet City GAS it is either going to be with a 50H or a 20H.

I still haven't played the 22H yet. I walked in to Guitar Center today, but they didn't have one. Couldn't tell me when they would, but they will. I'm pretty sure it's not my cup of tea though.

If I could get one of these with a clean channel and the BE w/ saturation and a loop, I would be a VERY happy man. Only reason I haven't picked up a BE modded 20H is the lack of a clean channel, which is 100% necessary for me. The extra charge for a loop is a bit rediculous too.

I did not think a Z MAZ18 had enough clean headroom for me, and went with a 50 watt dual 6L6 amp. And those MAZ18s are way louder than one would suspect an 18 watter to be.

I was thinking that the JCA20H or 22H might be a fun and inexpensive "rock machine". There is only so much clean volume you can get out of a pair of EL84s even if clean headroom was your design goal, and I don't think clean headroom was a top design priority with these amps.

Dave Friedman. It is the same one available from TM, and Jet City sells them on their website under "Jet Packs". Going rate for used runs @ $550-650 for the kitchen sink. I bought mine used, and traded it locally to get a Friedman modded Metro Plexi. I'll be honest - the JC didn't give up a lot in terms of tone to the Metro. It's really that good. A forum member has my JC now, and I imagine he might chime in at some point.

Interesting. I did contact Tone Merchants, and may have spoken to Dave...I should have asked. However, I did ask about the JCA22H and if they were going to be offering up mods for it too, and the response was "I don't think I'll be modding those".

Since there is a clean channel Mod available ( Verellyn Mod ) and there's the Friedman Mod , I asked the JCA guys on the phone if it migh be possible to incorporate BOTH mods into the 2 channel models.

So you'd have a Fenderish clean but there's still a functional gain on there I think for slightly OD cleans, then you'd have the Friedman on the other channel .

They said they'd look into it but it was a little early etc.

If this dual mod and twin dirty channel mods become Factory available on the 22 50 and 100 watt models - these things could become very popular right ?

And these are supposed to be the best ever Amps from Asia, construction wise- if these mods and others are available they could have a VERY long production life.
