Was jamming with this amp (my buddy's) last night when it lost the channel changing capability. Here's what I know...

(a) with the footswitch plugged in, the amp stays on the rhythm channel
(b) stepping on the footswitch does turn on/off the LED, with both a JetCity and a Soldano footswitch
(c) unplugging the footswitch makes the amp stay on the lead channel
(d) testing the JetCity footswitch with a continuity tester shows it to be OK, at both the switch and the 1/4" end
(e) all fuses are good and the tubes were brand new 2 weeks ago

I'm scratching my head on this one. Do you think it might be the amp's jack? Or a component on the board?

Did that footswitch ever work with the amp? The fact that plugging a switch in changes channels tells me the amp is fine.

Yes it did.

The JC footswitch is wired up identical to my Soldano footswitch; the LED is connected the same in both. Both footswitches work fine with my SLO, and both footswitches switches test fine for breaking/connecting continuity at both the switch and at the end of the cable.

The amp's switching does seem to work because the channels change when putting-in/pulling-out the footswitch cable. I'm thinking maybe it's the jack(?). I don't know.

Spray some contact cleaner on the FS jack and run it in and out while the amp is off. I've had this happen on a few of these amps and this usually does the trick.

You've got the wrong foot switch. All of the Jet City foot switches look the same, but they don't work the same. Example: I can't use the foot switch from my JCA100H on my JCA22H and vice versa. Just doesn't work. It LOOKS like it works, but it's functionally incorrect. Possible it got mixed up with another JCA foot switch?

Another thing to try is make sure the foot switch is plugged in before the amp is powered on--seen that too. Last but not least, make sure you're plugged into the foot switch jack and not the FX send or return -- I've done that one too...

Sounds like a switch issue to me. There are two common ways to wire LED's in a switch and they generally aren't interchangeable. Got a switch with no LED's around you can try?

Sounds like Jerry and Race are on it...I'll bet that's the issue.

I've got three of those Jet City foot switches and you'd think I'd be smart enough to have labeled them by now but nope, I still mix them up and then they don't work and I have to try each one until I get the correct match-up. I THINK the JCA100H and JCA100HDM foot switches are interchangeable, but the JCA22H is finicky and specific. Let us know how it goes...

Update: 100% wrong footswitch, and my buddy's son was to blame. He somehow knew about the different JetCity footswitch thing, and played a joke on us when we took a beer break. He switched it out with my friend's JCA100H footswitch when we weren't looking. My buddy said that the kid was laughing all night about it.

He got us good.

 I was pretty sure it was something to do with the switch.

Payback on that deserves some extremely thoughtful planning...
