Not impressed. Sounds muddy/flubby and at times almost transistor-ish. Of course, dozens and dozens of factors comprise that (not the least of which is YT compression), so my opinion is largely invalid without hearing & playing one in person so it could be much better. However, it doesn't strike me as a good representation of the amp if that's the case.

Yeah, I know - but I also do know that it is easy to overdrive a mic pre and having the wrong placement esp. for SM57s, so my guess is that just the vid maker is "unexperienced" and causes 90% of the bad result. I could be wrong of course.

Those heads are 299 Euros here - the 100s (HR100+ clone) will be 999 Euros.

The "Tone King" has a knack of making everything sound bad.
:bleh:

I'd like to hear the amp but I had to turn it off as soon as he said "tone lounge"...

Enough yakking. The best amp reviews seem to be the ones that just play and list the settings on screen, no talking. I'm not interested in hearing some schmuck talk about his setups, how he reads feedback, or crap like that. Show the front of the amp, list the settings on screen, and go.

On the amp itself, it sounded good enough to not dismiss it entirely. The recording was rough, but I'd give it a go if I found one in the flesh.

There are also 2/3 vids by the company available on YT - played with a Telecaster, thats why I've . . .

Just got one of them (the 20s).

Opened it and had a look inside. Looks very good, neat, well done.

Congrats to Doug of JCA, thats so far the best MIC amp I've seen.

Will fire it up later today and report.

Sounds nice so far.
Clean (master full up and gain ctrl as volume) works (pretty well).
Crunchy tones are nice.
Will have to check some stuff like bias and such though.

I can't stand this guy's reviews. TTK.

More like The Talking King.

Yep, he sure does.
Why would I want to watch an amp review where some d-bag talks about the amp for 3/4 of the video?!? I talk about amps every day. I don't need to listen to someone's sales pitch.
Let me HEAR the damn thing!!!

Sounds rockin Olaf!!!

Your clip sounds 100x better than the ToneKings clip

Thanks Dan, There is some kind of strange phasing - not from me or the amp or the recording. Sorry for that.

Like "normal" Soldanos, cranking the gainpot to far adds a bit too much mud for my taste - it is perfect for higher gain around 7 to 7.5 or so.

Now I will mod it :D

just had 10 minutes to record, so . . .
Thank you! THAT is how you record an amp clip/demo!
No BS, just the amp being played. Sounds rockin
