In ear monitors have a low noise threshold.
Pretty sure Johnson's vocals have shot craps permanent and they're using the "hearing loss" excuse to save face.

Local radio Rock station reported Johnson's hearing loss was from racing cars but the recent concert video's i saw suggest it's a vocal problem rather than hearing.

Yeah, I've had my tickets for months and was supposed to see them in two weeks. Really sucks because I hadn't seen them since 1988 and was really looking forward to it. I can get my money back but holding off until they say what is going to happen. I'd rather see Brian Johnson up there lip-synching than them bringing in some fill-in singer. Short of Robert Plant, I can't imagine anyone filling in for him that would make it worth it.

-AC~DC is right up there with EVH for lying,denying,misleading & changing there stories..
-BACK IN BLACK was in the can with it's writer, BON SCOTT,..
-BON dies,.
-at the time I lived in California and there was a show on called "POP SHOT'S", -(this was a one hour show that played music videos pre-MTV)-the remaing members were on an said they didn't feel right putting out the album with BON being dead.
-Brian Johnson is brought in, the boys in AC~DC say " they changed the songs/lyrics around..... again,.. "cuz it isn't right"....
-BACK IN BLACK is released,..
-there's a law suit from BON SCOTT'S family..
-AC~DC denies Bon had anything to do with BACK in BLACK
-listen to BACK IN BLACK, fcking awesome all-time classic right!!! Listen to the lyrics.... Then listen to anything AC~DC put out after BACK IN BLACK...
-NOT EVEN IN THE SAME STRATOSPHERE!!!
-I can't think of one song since BACK IN BLACK worth listening to..
-either BON SCOTT was AC~DC or the rest of the band just turned there back's on there audience, putting out crap for the last 36 years..

Don't get me wrong, I love the Bon Scott era songs but I love "Heatseeker", "Thunderstruck", "For Those About to Rock", and a lot of Brian Johnson era songs. To me, it is like two different bands. The earlier AC/DC songs were sleazier and more raw while the later stuff was more polished.
