Just had a question on if the JJ-100 can accept any other tube other than EL34's......maybe 6L6's or 6550's or 6ca7's?

Would there need to be a mod to allow this? Or in general, its not possible?

Coming from the 6L6 world and i kind of want some of both worlds (6l6 and el34), so maybe 6ca7's? Didn't know what kind of impact this would have on the sound?

Thanks!

Ray

Any of the above. Might need to change a resistor to get certain tubes in the bias range.

now im curious to see what some kt77s would do in my JJ.... but sounds too good to mess with right now, haha

Thanks for the reply....I sent you an email asking more in depth questions about alternate tube choices.....

So I can safely run 6l6GC's in a BE100 if they bias right? ... had no idea.

KT77's are the Bomb. More or less the best of both worlds (6L6/EL34), imho.
