JMP 2203 Boosted Clip

What Year is that one? I had a JMP 2203 Mint from 1980 & it sounded NOTHING like that Boosted. I tried different preamp tubes & power tubes, different boosts....EVERYTHING to try & get close to that tone. I finally took it to 2 different Techs & they both said "You got a dud dude" They offered to Mod it for me but i didn't want to mod it.

I eventually sold it for 1700 or 1800 to a guy that lived near me & he modded it himself & now it sounds like a Recto with the Bass turned all the way up.

It’s a 1980. Pretty good shape but no closet queen- she’s been around.

Hey at least you got some decent money for yours. I’d definitely recommend trying another some day. This amp has become the reference for all other amps for me- if an amp can’t hold its own next to this 2203 then it’s not a keeper.
