Joe Bonamassa- Evansville Guitar/Rig Pics

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I went and saw Joe this past Tuesday in Evansville. This is my 4th JB show in the past year, and he was amazing once again. He was also very gracious with his time before and after the show...signing and taking pictures for everyone.

I was fortunate enough to get some pretty cool shots with my ole camera. I thought I would share some of them with you all. The pics are chronological based on the order of guitars he used.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the shots, Joe is an incredible performer!

Never saw him before with an EB guitar, pretty cool

Sick pictures. Bonamassa is insane! Look at that rig

About the EBMM, I've actually seen him with a Petrucci baritone a few times too.

He actually used one of those new EB 25th Anniversary guitars at his Royal Albert Hall show in May. He has also used a Petrucci Baritone for a long time on his song "The Ballad of John Henry". Neither of them were out for the show I saw though.

Those cabs are new additions aren't they? He wasn't using Category 5 cabs last I saw?

Also the bogner is new as well thay replaced his category 5 head

They were new to me as well...Last I knew he was using Mojo Cabs with no Logos. They appear to be the same cab designs, just with the Cat 5 logos.

That is correct...He started using the Bogner in the past few months. The last time I saw him he still had the Category 5 Super Lead clone. I prefer the Category 5, but honestly couldn't point out any major differences in the sound during this show. I just like the Plexi based amp idea, hahaha

I don't care much for blues but he was excellent when he played my University last year. Thought his tone was kind of 'meh'. Rather flat sounding, probably due to the EVs.

He seems to rotate heads quite a bit. I've seen him without the Carol Ann or Van Wheeldon before too, with the Category 5 stepping in. He must have an utterly insane collection.

He played at the music store I used to manage a few years ago. It was a radio station in store thing we did. He used my Silver Jubilee head and of course wanted to buy it. He came back the next day and I sold him a 1987XL. He used it for a little while live but I don't think he uses it anymore. Joe was a nice guy, sounds like he still is.

Very cool JOe is getting some killer equipment due to the work he has done but his tone will always be Marshall.
