I'm not comparing myself to him, no thanks. I remember my guitar teacher always telling me I lifted my fingers too high off of the fretboard. I'd like to show him this and say look at this guy!!!!!!!

Joe's got an interesting technique, almost seeming to use distance as a timing mechanism. He seems to lift WAY off the fingerboard for the slower stuff but when he's smoking he's using good economy of motion.

I'll bet he chose that technique to impress the chicks ("wow, did you see his fingers moving!!!").

If he had made an Ozzy record he'd be amongst the "greats".

I doubt it...Ozzy hasn't released anything worth listening to since "No More Tears". Plus, ask Gus G how that worked out for him

Ozzmosis was great IMO, and Joe would have written some killer shit with him. He co-wrote That I Never Had off Down To Earth which was a great track

The material Gus G had to work with was sub par

I agree that Ozzmosis is great minus a couple of tunes!!! I wish Joe recorded with them since he rocked it live and well Gus G was handed a bag of crap to work with!! Terrible songwriting!!!

I have not talked to him for a long time, but he had six early 70s metal panel JMPs. I have one done up just like his, I had to ask Joe if it was alright before Jose would do one for me, and guess what, no diode clipping in these . So much for people saying diode clipping was the Jose sound. Absolute Monster Tone.
