One of the best. Would love to hear him with a CCV

The baddest man to ever stroke the neck of a Les Paul...

Love Sykes, looking forward to the new project with Portnoy (as long as they don't let Portnoy near a mic...)

One of my faves.great player.2nd the wanting to hear the tunes with Portnoy.

Great stuff! I love Sykes.

Doesn't matter what amp he uses. The Coliseum, Marshall or if it was a CCV. He always sounds the same. He likes a LOT of saturation. He and Mark Day would get along!

He has a 5150 now that he wants to try to use live. He has gone back to his Jose Marshalls but doesn't want to take them on the road.

One of my favorite players. Report to Amazon(or wherever) and get this if you don't have it. Long out of print, it has been recently made available to download.

His other semi recent Bad Boy Live is also good. More Marshally sounding than the Mesa's-a-blazing sound on the Blue Murder one above.

I seem to recall Brad saying he was on the list for a CCV.
if he wanted one I am sure brad would see he got one right away, it would be a great business move.

John...KILLS...I saw him at the Galaxy for the "Sykes" Video shoot for a Japan only release... 500 people in this "club" John had enough amps a wall of them (and loud enough) for the Forum!....

I think the 5150 could work... The guy in the Atomic Punks could dial in a non-5150 tone lol...
Sykes would sound good playing pretty much anything IMHO

His son, who is in a metal band recommended the 5150 and they found an old one for sale right down the street from him so he bought it to check it out--and he had heard about some mods for it and I recommended he contact Jerry P/FJA. While he likes it, he actually has already sort of moved past the 5150 and is working on getting something else for live use. He is also aware of the existence of Cameron amps.

I wondered how my name came into it. Thanks for telling him about me. He called about a video he saw on YouTube and it wasn't mine. It was a DIY guy that added the tube rectifiers to a 5150 and he liked the video. I told him it wasn't mine and it wasn't a mod I thought much of, but I could do it if he wanted. I would do pretty much anything he asked me to do to an amp if he asked, DUH!
