this one is a old MI Audio Super Blues Pro circuit I had been messing with ... renamed Joliet Blues O.D.

Looks great. Even has the bros in there. There is a lot of additional knobs there over the original unit, no? I don't get what some of the labels mean, detail body and tri, and I don't get what the two toggles or dials are for near the footswitch.

the original had 2 regular size knobs and 3 tiny knobs .... with the diode switches at the top ...
it's Vol , Drive , Body , Detail and Trim .... the diode switches let you mix and match mosfets and silicon ... or take the diodes out completely

Really dig the M.I. Audio pedals. Shame they’re not doing pedals anymore. I have an old Blues Pro (3 knobber, with mini toggle to go from ts9 to a fuzz). I leave it in the fuzz setting and with level at about 1 O‘Clock and gain at 10am it’s an amazing boost for medium gain 800 type base tones.

it's a cool circuit .... it has some unique features in the way it's structured ..... the schematic caught my eye before I heard it ...

Did you keep any of the silicone / mosfet switching?

The pedal is too complicated for a luddite like me but what's the purchase price?

Get it. It’s worth it. For your rig you need a Chiron also. Lemme know if you want to try it out and I’ll send mine to you.

What changes did you make, besides cosmetic and switch placement?

It looks killer but I don't understand the controls and I have been pretty happy with my Rockett Blue Note for almost ten years (on and off) and when I say ten years I mean the ONLY pedal I have gigged in 10 years. Before that I had a VS J&H for ten years. I don't really switch pedals like underwear like a lot of other players. I would have to be fully convinced before I went there. I'm pretty satisfied with my sound right now overall and I'm in the middle of tracking a record so now is probably not a good time.

Another problem is I MOSTLY use a drive as a boost in front of a cranked amp but for some gigs where I have to keep the volume in check I have to dial in a lot more gain from the pedal, so it seems there is no real "ideal" box for both situations. The BN doesn't have a lot of gain on tap. I wasn't even using a pedal for about three or four years but I got tired of fighting a too-clean amp when I couldn't crank it all the way so I started using my Blue Note again.

$125 is pretty much a steal for a new hand built pedal. I was expecting 150-160 or even upwards of $200.

Thanks for the offer btw on the Chiron, that's nice of you. I gotta pass for now.

Another pedal they had that looked super promising but I couldn’t get one before they closed shop was the Crossover Drive V2. The V2 had a 3 way voicing switch added for regular, less gain and tight.

cool sounding pedal ............. I can't find a schematic for it though ....

Hmmm.. tempting... even though I don't actually NEED anything, I;m always curious on new drives.
