Jose Arredondo modded Marshall on eBay

He's trashed the listing/advertising at this point. Posting the gut shots is all that could salvage it. Couldn't hurt it, certainly.

If that was an authentic Jose he would have had it sold in minutes. It's not. Dude is a joke really.

Wow, this is entertaining.

Honestly, I wouldn't believe it was modded by Jose unless Fortin or Cameron looked at it. If anyone knows Jose's work, it's them...

Regardless it's hard to tell by looking at the headshell

I've had 3 Jose modded 100 watters for a long time including what is purported to be the very first one he did his extra stage gain mod on with green felt tip writing on the back panel. Others may disagree with me, but I would expect to see an added preamp tube with Push/pull gain knob located at the lower right with input at the lower left to access the mod. That is the specific mod people are seeking and paying a premium for in a Jose modified Marshall IMO. The ohm selector is often replaced with a rotary type. There is a "pull both" knob at channel 2 to combine the channels. Other mods might include effects loop, preamp out or line out. He was not a fan of the PPIMV. I know that because he told me so when I met him in '83 living out there. He tended to use the traditional style MV sometimes with diode clipping activated with a push pull pot. People also will point out certain knobs styles he would use and sometimes he did things to increase the B+.

They make nice doorstops.

Fn with ya.

I'm coming in late, but Steve-
would a Jose circuit even work in a Major the way they are laid out?
I know its pretty much settled at this point, but I'm curious

I stand corrected... and pics or they're Bugeras! :D

the logic here is so flawed.

the value of the amp is in the fact of if it is truly a jose mod.

just sending someone the gut shots and being afraid they will go out and mod their amp like it doesn't really affect the value of amp he is selling at all.

however, being shady about it and sending back responses in broken English really devalues the amp a lot. what an idiot.

He's not posting anymore so it's fairly obvious it was in fact shady to begin with.

If you go in his ebay sales history, you can see that he likes to market most of the things that he sells as "Rare" items.

Hes got alot of these "Rare," items in his possession. Lucky guy eh? So rare that he just wants to sell them.

I predict that we haven't seen the last of him and that future auctions will contain rare 70's televisions repaired and modded by Jose,
as well as forged steel swords handled by Jose himself.

A whole "Made by Jose," ecommerce site in the making.

What a guy
