Thanks for the comments guys. I was thinking more along the llnes of boosting with the pedal an already gainy JMP. The pedal would take it over the top the same way a Jose mod would.
Would the BE-OD with the gain knob backed down to taste?

I used the BE-OD for exactly this through my Jubilee at this weekends gigs and it
worked perfectly.I had the internal trim pot just cracked and ran the pedal
full level and zero gain. Gave it that extra special sauce I was hoping it would.

I didn't say it could be bought... but it looks like it exists if you believe what you hear in the YT video if it is indeed coming from a Cameron Overdrive pedal. Anyway it did fit the OP question.

He's done a few; I played one probably five or six years ago.

No love here for the MXR EVH 5150? I dream a Jose amp sounds and feels like my EVH 5150 into my Voodoo V-Plex. The MXR has a gate built in, too...and it works great. Cleans up with the guitar volume incredibly well, too.
BTW...5150 pedal screams into my Deluxe Reverb, as well. ...not to mention my Marshall 1923. Excellent pedal.

I have ZERO against the BE-OD and was definitely going to buy one (may still) 'til I SAW THIS VIDEO and already had the EVH 5150.

As a single pedal space, though, BE-OD wins for size.

So you only pay two times too much instead of 3....gotcha

I was able to play through a friends Filthy Lucre and it was incredible sounding. Ordered mine and couldn't be happier. Bump for a great pedal.

If you like your amp's tone and all you want to do is boost it and/or make it dirtier, then the Buxom Boost might be what you are looking for. It does have tone shaping capabilities as well.

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of boosts, overdrives, and distortion pedals out there to choose from. Many of them have zener diode clippers in them. The wheel has already been reinvented hundreds of times here.
