Jose or hack?

Hoping to get some opinions on this amp. A guy brought it in to our store...said it's a Jose mod. Anyway to tell for sure without some sort of documentation?

That is definitely a straight wire mod directly from the 80`s . Notice how the AC110 cord is connected. Pretty sure could be wrong. Other than that i have no idea.

Not sure what it is but it is not a Jose mod at all. Dave

It's ugly enough to be a Jose mod - messy wiring, uneven jacks, holes drilled over text, etc - and looks to be a similar era, but I never saw a Jose mod that had masked components.

The loop circuit looks like a Rivera era Fender circuit. A sharp close up of the loop wiring area would help. Also a sharp closeup of the pull-pot on the front panel. The small imported loop pots also make me think not Jose.

A trademark of Jose mods was chassis ground connections done with big ugly solder blobs. I don't see any of that here. That's actually a good thing.

I have..it's just 'ok'. The PT100 behind it is waaaay cooler.
