In all seriousness, I'm not naming him because I don't want the guy to get inundated with help requests

How about just a couple picts of him?

Here ya go! No mod too tuff.

I have detailed pictures of the Jose mod that was in my amps (not my exact amps though) - many of the modders do. Anyone could easily do it. They just choose to do what sounds good to them.

Steve

And you said yours sounded great, so what are you going to do in your amp, same thing or your take?
Mine will be absolutely identical to that mod, except foot switchable between the two masters Dave described above (instead of push/pull) and also foot switchable to a stock '69 Super Lead (Jose's mod could not do this, even with a switch on the amp). Mine will have a much better series/parallel efx loop that you can completely remove from the circuit (also by footswitch). Mine also will have a PPIMV that can be completely removed from the circuit (basically available for Super Lead mode). I won't have the option to tie the channels together that Dave describes either - I never used it...

Basically identical with foot switching added, stock Super Lead mode and a PPIMV that can be complete removed from the circuit. I'm basically trying to make a slightly more flexible version of the amps I loved that Jose did for me.

It's all in the schems I've posted here. Anyone who has seen the inside of a Jose can verify what I'm doing...

Steve - I can't wait to hear that beast!!!!!
Well... I just got off the phone with a builder who I respect very much who has given me belief that I'm headed in the right direction on the layout I showed him, so I'm feeling a lot more confident on the direction I'm going. Such a cool guy to take some time to help me when he's got plenty of his own stuff to take care of! I was second guessing my original layout, but I now feel good that it was the right path and will ditch the subsequent approach I was going down. This is really FUN though - it's like a crazy puzzle trying to fit all this stuff in without things getting noisy, etc...

These things take serious time though... and there will likely be a lot of tweaking once I get something to work with. Its quite a complex project with all the switching...

Steve

Steve, it's just been fun watching you get closer and closer to the finished product! If you indeed get to the point where you offer this amp as a kit then you will be hearing from me pronto.
Thanks man! I won't be selling kits though... I'm going to post the schematics, the layouts, detailed bill of materials and full instructions. You can buy the parts and build it yourself from everything I've provided. If you don't want to go through the trouble of actually building the amp, I'll offer complete amps in your choice of tolex, etc...

Steve
awsome steve!!
