I know this is old news and likely a clip that was posted before but being a JCM800 guy, hearing these three amps back to back the Jubilee is a killer sounding amp. Has that grunt and cut and doesn't just sound like an 800 with a pedal in front. Has it's own thing going on. I might have to save my pennies for one of the minis after listening to a few more mic'd clips of this amp. Any of you guys still hot on this amp or did you find it a one trick pony and move it along? I see why Slash always goes back to this one, gets damn close to the AFD tone with the right mic placement.

I have a Jubilee sitting right here and though it sounds pretty good, I wish the bottom were a little tighter.

Sounds plenty tight in that video.. interesting. Does it tend to give out as the volume goes up and the amp pushed?

I've had a 2555X, and just today I got my 6th original(over the years), a 2554 combo. Through a 74 Marshall cab with a boost, OD1X, no flub and tight low end. Gotta put a boost in front though, to get medium to high gain. But I'll always say a boost or two in front and you've got a Cameron esque modded marshall. One of the few Marshalls that kills through V30s.

Unlike most Marshalls the eq is very responsive, you can overpower it with low end almost like a Mesa. Earlier I had the master up to 5(overall master is wide open for power tube sat) and I had to turn my bass down to 4. Overpowering the Greenbacks.

I agree, it sounds much better and tighter with a boost out front but I thought we were talking straight up amp.

Didn't someone here had a really bad experience with one of these? I think it turned out that they dropped the plate voltage crazily low.

If you already have an 800 this might be of interest to you:

In that comparison clip in the original post, the Jubilee is definitely louder than the other two amps. Louder always sounds better to my ears

The JCM 800 sounds great though. I'd be happy with either one of those Marshalls for sure.

I don't remember the last time I tried any Marshall without a boost ready to be stepped on..  . Seriously.

I was actually talking straight up amp but yeah, I usually push my two 800's with a koko or bad monkey or 808. We can talk OD's too though but at that point I might as well just stick with what I have. That pedal looks interesting though.. lacks a bit of the fullness of a real amp but I bet with some trickery recorded it might be interesting to add to the tonal palette.

Sounds awesome. The Friedman does better palm mutes IMO but the Jubilee takes the cake everywhere else. Those open chords sound great.

I recently loaded my Bogner OS 2x12 with 75w Creambacks and
they sound fantastic with the 2555x. Low end is tighter, no mid spike
and much more going on at the top end. I loaded one at a time and the
Creamback dominated the V30 when side by side, not a bad mix though
but the two Creambacks together just sounded larger than the V30's.
Next project is loading my 4x12 with them.
