Just been put in line for a Killer Kali++

The amp loves both low and high output pickups - my Custom 24 with C-Bombs and the other with Aftermaths sound killer (though the Aftermaths are perhaps ever so slightly too modern), but my McCarty with 57/08s sounds equally good. So much bite and clarity.

I should add that this amp does "modern metal" / brootz better than most amps that are designed for that sound. It really is a wonder.

Well, the amp definitely have that agro midrange, even at lower gain.. but it still sounds super open and articulate. As for true vintage plexi tones... not really what it does best, but anything angry Marshall it will do like theres no tomorrow. Sounds fantastic at mid gain.

I think I wanna talk to Dan about having a switch that sweetens up the midrange a bit and adds a bit more chew.. for versatility.

That was BKP Nailbomb-alnico V. in the bridge of the R0 you'v seen.

I recently got an el cheapo Gibson studio with P90's... man, it sounds fantastic for rock tones through the KK++. It's a very versatile amp.
What kind of amp are u gonna use as donor?

Not sure yet. But me or Dan are gonna find a donor amp in the UK.

Jofipe, did you use a attenuator in the clip? Or how well does the master volume work?

No attenuator... MV is just great. I took out two el34s tho... Dropped it to 8 ohms.
Means I can crank the living shit out of it going into Torpedo WoS. You don't need to crank it tho... Iv just been in a period where I max the vol and use the gain as vol... Plexi style . Sounds really really good.

You are doing something wrong in you signal path then. How do you run it?
I always set my line-out on maximum output, and i let my preamp attenuate that a bit.

The "Chandler Little Devil" is a 500 series preamp. I use that instead of the preamps in my RME... the RME preamps would work fine tho. Might aswell just use the Chandler now that I have it.

First rehearsal with the band tonight. Still grinning from ear to ear with the tones this beast is capable of.
My initial thought the first time I cranked it up was holy f*ck !

Then I remembered the Violence / Glass/ and depth knobs..
Holy Sh*t F*ck. !!!

F*ck me running wide open speed , this amp crushes

Your gonna love it, its one of my keepers for sure. You wont need the sat switch (diodes) The last tube stage will crush anything in its path
I like V30's with it

Does a killer Kali come standard with clipping options like a standard Cali ? Would be cool to have both options maybe.

Nope it doesn't. I know someone here has one with both options.. he NEVER uses the clipping option. Hell I like the Violence even on midgain setting. Everything just becomes bigger and spacier.
