Kidding, mostly. That's an insane collection though, and really well maintained. 300+ Fenders and 70+ Gibsons. Not bad.

I watched the rest of the video. What a weird collection. Nothing spectacular, just a bunch of regular ass $800 - $1,400 Fenders and Gibsons with a few hitting maybe just above the $2k mark, with a few oddball unique finishes and features every now and then or whatever. Most of them showed no signs of having been played.

I'm guessing CME found some used guitar warehouse that went out of business or something and bought their entire inventory, that's about all I can think of that makes sense. Otherwise why in the world would any "collector" want 400 guitars like that when the same money could have bought a roomful of holy grail lifetime heirloom level guitars?

Some people just collect hundreds of the same thing - Star Trek commemorative plates, salt & pepper shakers, whatever. They have no intention of putting salt in them or roast beef on them. It's probably a form of socially semi-acceptable low grade mental illness, like owning more than 2 cats.

Dude you should totally go to Gatlinburg, buy the $3 ticket and walk through the place. The guy who runs it showcases his deceased mom's collection of tens of thousands of pairs of salt and pepper shakers she collected over her lifetime. He wears a cardigan and totally gives off Norman Bates vibes.

But watch it bud, no photography in the gift shop! He doesn't want any of his salt and pepper shaker gift ideas falling into the greedy clutches of all those other salt and pepper shaker makers. Seriously.

Man, there’s a couple guys local to me that are always popping up on CL or Marketplace posting pics of a guitar FS/trade and in the background you just see wall to wall guitars, but they’re all $600 and below guitars. I get the idea these guys are far more into collecting/trading than they are actually playing and when they show friends/family/non-players the collection its just as impressive to them as a room full of vintage/expensive guitars would be to a player.
