So have you actually taken a real one apart? I wonder if you could figure out how to tune the low cut on it.

Or, call me crazy here...you could buy a TC Integrated Pre or Booster+ Line Driver and then tune the low cut wherever you wanted by turning the bass knob... :D

Yeah the tuning is really complex to match the 33... bass off and treble full

I've got my TC clone I built and an actual 33 here side by side and the 33 has a touch more volume when turned all the way up but that's it. May be because my clone is based on a pc board I grabbed online and not exact to the TC schematic IIRC.

You do know that the TC Integrated Pre can be fed with up to 32V, right ? I tried and the amount of clean gain is really amazing....

Yes I do... and the clone includes a charge pump that raises the voltage. I believe the 33 is running at ~32v volts internally while mine is closer to 20v and that accounts for the slight difference. I haven't cared enough to investigate further but am going to build another clone that runs at the higher voltage eventually. I've been more focused on building amps than pedals lately but have some boards lying around I should really build at some point.

Im playing a clone of this right now that kicks ass. Switchable between TC and 33 with a toggle.

Sounds to me like you almost HAVE to love it because you paid that price for it.. I just bought a used 6 piece birch drumkit for 100$ more (CAD) so to me that seems insane! Are you really going to hear the difference at volume or on a recording? If you dig it though, guess that doesn't matter. What do I know, I am an internet forum keyboard warrior..
