Should be here early next week and I can't wait to start putting my board together. Recently got the Infinity looper and have an Earthquaker The Depths coming soon and the other mainstays will be Barber overdrive, Bogner Red, Strymon DIG and a few other goodies.

My last hurdle is cabling. I'm leaning toward buying some bulk lava mini or Belden 9778 or similar, some small pancake jacks and just cutting/soldering my own. What are you switcher guys & gals using these days? The PW or Lava kits seem nice but I really don't like the idea of solder free connections because I know I'll be swapping pedals here and there until I find the right combination that works live and might wear them out.

I went with George L right angles. Never had an issue with a cable failing

I use George L's as well for my PB. They're solderless but I never had any prolems with them. Granted I don't hook, unhook up pedals frequently but I also use George L's for instrument cable as well, plugged in and out of guitars thousands of time.

I really like the George L's, but I'll say that the solderless stuff has been less than stellar for me. Some of the cables, even after following the directions to the 'T' didn't make a great connection. I had to re-work a number of them.

I used George L's as well with my ES8. The loops inputs are very close together. It's either something like George L's or straight plugs that steal real estate.

I just redid my board with the Lava Tightropes. I am a moron and they came out great! No apparent loss of tone and every cable worked the first go around.

Thanks for the replies! Anyone compare the Lava or George L stuff to the Planet Waves kits?

Also, I doubt few have done it but what about soldering the connections in the kits? Seems like it would just add peace of mind and reliability.

I bought 50' of George L 155 orange cable a couple years ago. Recently I bought 72 pancake right angle jacks and started wiring and soldering up my board. I have some spots that will need the George L jacks because of space.

Now that I have it mostly wired I am looking at getting the ES-8 and Voodoo Hex

Post pics when you get it

Evidence Audio monorail and SIS plugs. Fantastic with no issues!

Thanks for the replies. I got the ES-8 today. Haven't tried it out yet and honestly it'll be a little while before I buy or even decide on cables. I'm really impressed with the ES-8 just based on asthetics and how solid everything feels. Still have some work to do on deciding final layout and all that but I'll post some progress pics soon.
