6505 aka 5150 isnt the tightest metal amp. Its actually kinda "sloppy" haha. the dual and triple rectos are extremely tight though.

To the OP, definitely the VH4, and from what I've heard, I can definitely vouch for the Fortin lineup, and let's not forget about the Dar Forza scene. But the VH4 is f*ckin tight!! Not sterile. Blisteringly HOT!!

I agree with Reza though - the VH4 is tight and the Hagen is as tight, just more of it. Don't discount the Herbert too. I could easily tweek the dropped metal tones out of the Herbie. The Hagen is taking some tweaking at stage volumes though. This is not a Diezel campaign though

From what I am seeing and hearing on the DAR FBM100 head, this may just smother them all though. And, then there is Mike Fortin's Natas.

I think the Hagen is very tight. Turn it up.....the more you twist, the tighter it gets.

I am not a Diezel fan (blasphemy I know around here). For me they are sterile, not tight. I prefer the VHT Pitbull UL for tight metal thythm. For me the king is the Ampeg VH140C for metal Rhythm.

Diezel's aren't for everyone or suit every need, and are unique in tone. But, (shhhhh....don't tell anyone, but when I gig, my Marshall's go with me).

I used to play metal with an ENGL Blackmore signature. It's not an amp designed for metal but it worked for me, and is tight in my opinion.

VH-4 is an other option but the sound is unique and may not fit everybody. I prefer the Einstein.

DAR FBM100 is as tight as it gets IMHO. Only amplifier that comes even remotely close is Killertone's Evil Pumpkin

Diezel VH4 and VHT Pitbull UL, in my experience. The Framus Cobra seemed pretty tight too.

Alternatively - most high gain amps with the addition of a Maxon OD-808.
