The tolex was in rough shape and the feet and corners were pretty beat ... handle too actually .... I replaced everything .... and retolexed it in Red Wine Taurus ..
I also reversed the colors on the Emblem Logo ....

Any tips on tolex?

My Marshall was incorrectly retolexed a long time ago in its past. The front is missing the stripe across the center. I have no desire to retolex all of it but just want to add the missing stripe.

Used to own one of these about a decade ago. Always had this upper mid quality I couldn't jive with. Like a weird stiffness that just didn't feel musical. Still always sounded great though.

there's a tool that they use to cut a groove in the tolex ( maybe the wood too ) .... then they press the piping in .... I don't know what the tool is called

I miss mine, but I traded it to Octavio of Underoath a few years ago for my current K-Tre. I really would like another one at some point in time.

The Krank '+' aren't bad. The non '+' I had I could not tolerate no matter what eq tubes, pedals, etc.

I was going to type up instructions on how I do piping like that but found a good video instead. This guy does it pretty much exactly how I do it. Only difference is my table saw blade isn't quite as wide as I need it to be. So I'll have to gently tap the fence to move it a millimeter over and run a 2nd pass to get the right width.

Badass man. I bought a full stack from Evans Music in Houston as soon as they hit the market. The head was pretty good but the cabs were great. they made the head sound good thats for sure.
