I can't afford to keep my entire house a constant temp/humidity, but my guitar/amp room is always 74F/45%RH. Not always an easy task in the Northeast US. It really does keep instruments in pristine condition though, comparatively. I've seen guitars that sat in humid cellars, and dry attics. It's unfortunate, but they will develop issues.I keep my house at a consistent humidity, and the only time I've had to condition a board is when I've bought a used guitar that needed it. When I do, I use food grade mineral oil.
