Just got back home from seeing Steve Vai...guitar festival time here once again and he opened with the first show. Kinda cool because its his first show starting his new tour...hes off to Europe tomorrow. 25th Anniversary of Passion and Warfare and we were treated to a few songs of that album that he never played live before so it was a first.
The venue was great because it only holds about 700 people so it sounded great!! First time seeing him and I was impressed...grew up with him...Alcatraz...Crossroads...David Lee Roth...Whitesnake...etc. His tone was so much better than I thought...live anyways. Always nice to get to see one of your childhood heros up close.

Very cool, i saw him years ago when he was with david lee roth

Very cool. Usually hear reports that his live tone is thin. I never liked the legacy's myself but glad he sounded good. Of course with that much skill he can make an am radio sound good

I am a big fan of his. I got to see him once as a solo I recently saw him on the generation axe tour. He absolutely kicked ass on the tour. It's like he was the teacher and the rest of the players were trying to keep up. He's a fantastic player in overall musician and he's a great performer.
