Well my AxeFx 2 showed up today, been playing all day long. Bought this to practice in my home office and gotta say with all the bad / good karma floating around with this unit.... I'm really impressed.

The Cameron and Mark Day patch kick ASS

Have you played/owned an Axe standard or Ultra to compare?

I owned an Ultra before, did the 11.0 firmware update and thought it made a huge improvement in tightening up the distorted sounds. The high gain/distorted sounds on the 2 IMHO sound much more open/less compressed and more usable with the standard factory presets.
The layout is different, will have to spend some time getting used to it.

Clips of the older versions would be much better, the typed stuff never cuts through the mix.

Got mine yesterday and agree on all points. I'm liking it and I really like the reworked UI. Much easier to dial in a patch quickly. Sound wise, there is a definite improvement to my ears over the previous box.

So how are you running the AxeFX2? Direct, through a power amp, etc?

Here are 3 presets. They are setup for OUT1 to DAW/FOH/FRFR, OUT 2 to power amp/guitar cab. All presets have a vol/pan block using ext ctrl1 set to midi cc11. You can set the vol/pan block up with your exp pedal settings or replace the block with a shunt.

Let me know what you think.

On the factory preset I made I was in a bit of a hurry, you should change the bypass state of the reverb and delay to MUTE IN. I forgot to do this when making the preset 370. If you bypass the delay or reverb without changing the bypass state the overall level of the preset will get really loud..lol.

Thanks Mark, I'll check em out later tonight.

do you guys think the FRFR gets you the guitar head and cab feel yet?

Congrats on the Axe II, I'm number 7 on the second batch from TM and sometimes I feel like a crack head waiting for his fix.
