Does not arrive for another 2 weeks but I got these bad ass pics of the bass. You can zoom in on the body and see the crazy birdseye figuring.

I had been on the wait list for like 2 years but once my turn came up I sent in my deposit and my bass was ready in 4 months time. Now I got to wait for a few things like customs so it should not be much longer.

100% hand made by Paul Herman in the UK no CNC machines at all, the only off the shelf parts are the tuners. Everything from the bridge to knobs is unique and designed by Wal.

Birdseye maple facings, Brazilian mahogony core and indian rosewood fretboard.

I just bought a Wal of a friend that to me (and my untrained eye) looks almost identical, except it's a 5 string (but also 24 fret). I believe it was made some time in the 80's, although I haven't checked up on it.

I bought it for 1000 euro. Is this a good deal? It is in very good condition.

See if I get the time today to upload a few pictures.

I didnt know anyone other than Geddy played a wal. When Geddy was playing them you could find them for sale around here. Very nice bass.

Oh man, I have wanted a Wal ever since I first saw and heard one. Every single time I hear one, I am floored.

Wal basses look amazing! You can just tell they are high quality. Congratulations on the new bass!

The one I just got, sounds amazing. Its such a good bass for recording.

1000 Euros is a great deal. They start at 3200 British pounds brand new and used ones have been selling for around the same price.

I am going to guess its a Wal machII 5 string and if your lucky it could be a Ian Waller era Wal. He died in 88 of a heart attack and Jason Newsted got one of the last Wals Ian had been involved with building. You can see it in the One video.

Is yours birdseye as well?

Well that sure was a good buy then

I am not sure if its birdseye or not, but I will try and upload some detailed pictures shortly.

How lucky would I be if it is an Ian Waller era?

But after looking at the pictures of your Wal, I will be damned if mine aint birdseye...

God Damn It, its a good bass! Just wish I was a better bass player, as I feel like I don't deserve to own it
I just bought it because I really liked it, and it sounded good. Then I discovered some bass players would give their left nut to own one!
