Been playing an older Quickrod for years and love it, but I want the new features, especially the drop B+.
So I ordered a Pro Stock (I don't use a clean channel) fully loaded.
Now the wait begins.

Congratulations! Splawns are awesome. I have a really cool Street Rod and it’s a lot of fun!

Congratulations!! What’s the difference between the quick rod and the pro stock??

Gotta say,Splawn amps are some of the best. Customer support, build quality, great tone, good price. One of the few great amps out there that you can buy used without fear. He has definitely made a great name for himself,IMO.

The Pro Stock has no clean channel. Other than that it's the same amp.

I should have picked that up from reading your original post. :aww:
Thanks for cluing me in. :2thumbsup:

Congrats! I got a brand new Quick Rod in a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It definitely gives my Friedman a run for it’s money!

Very cool! I'm rocking a 2005 model. I would eventually like to pick up a new one.

Congrats...
Rockin a pair of late model, fully loaded Splawn QR heads for my live rig.
Just a joy to play. Have a blast

Congratulation on your amplifier. I will have to look up the Pro Stock and see what sets it apart, but it sounds cool. Not to derail your thread here, but since the Splawn guys are chiming in then who can explain how the Nitro compares with the Quickrod if you were to put EL34s in it instead of KT88? I heard that it's actually better with EL34 tubes if you play a variety of music or KT88 if you play metal. The Nitro never gets talked about even though it seems really awesome. It seems like Spalwn's answer to the Bogner Uberschall or something. I want to know more. This is probably not the best video, but to me the Nitro sounds best of all the Splawns. Your thread is giving me Splawn GAS!

Congrats. I really would like to try out some of the new options.

Man, I loved the Splawn Competition I had back around 2006. I ended up selling it to a member on the forum here years ago. I lived in an apartment and could play and do recordings, etc. without bothering anyone at all. Sounded great at low volumes.

I can't even imagine how awesome the Splawn amps sound now that Scott has incorporated the B+Constant, half power options, etc. Between Splawn and Friedman, the Splawn amps seem to get more of that early Van Halen vibe a bit better.

my friends shop has a Quickrod with matching 412 cab in mint condition for $1400, I almost bought it until I played it. Absolutely crushing tone, some of the best Ive heard...absolute worst master volume though lol. I really wish I could bring it home but they even had the 2 outer tubes pulled and it was still way too loud.

Same here :D

Congrats Fragglerick

I have the same basic headshell too - traded my old plexi shell with a guy here on R-T

Same here. I've played the newer ones with the B+ and it wasn't for me. My old ass beat up 3 pre has some crazy mojo. I'll never sell it

The newer models have the loop volume control to fix this. On an older model you could put a volume pedal or volume box in the fx loop. Thats what I did on my old 2007,worked great.
