My dad spotted this one somewhere for cheap, so il be getting rid of my old Solid State ADA B200S and replacing it with this!

Hopefully it will work out well for my W/D/W rig!

They work great, the one thing I would keep in mind when you retube is they're non-adjustable bias and seem to be set a bit on the cold side. At least the one I've got experience with is... But, as long as you can get a dealer to get you a set on the hot side, it'll all balance out.

Good luck bro.

Peace.

Thanks for the info, i didnt know that! I can definitly get hotter sets of tubes no problem :) How do you use yours? Preamp/Poweramp setup or W/D or?

Just fired her up through my two PA cabs and hooked up my mixer and cd player just to hear the kinda power and tone it has.

Sounds awesome, very warm but punchy in the mids and bass!! Im very impressed, this will work perfect for my Wet/Dry rig!!

Anyone know if its safe to use only one channel and leave the other channel turned to 0 without a load? Il only need 1 side for live use now, so i need to know its safe for using like that! :)

i thought those 60/60's had power switches for both channels? if not, you should be fine with it zeroed on one channel (mesas are setup like that i believe).

if all else fails, go to the Peavey website and download the manual. they had one for my Classic 120 power amp, they should have one for your 60/60!

I downloaded the manual but it doesnt say whether its safe or not to do that. Im sure with the channel volume zero'd it should be fine though..

The tubes that were inside mine were the original Peavey tubes it came with. Its going to need a retube before i gig it!

I spent like an hour taking the amp apart and cleaning all the dust out of it. It was literally caked in dust and dirt inside all over the tube sockets, tubes, PCB, Fan etc. It probably would have caught fire if i had turned it on without cleaning it LOL :D

i hear you there...mine was about the same way. dust everywhere...no caked on dirt, but lots of dust. im assuming mine are the original Peavey Super 7 tubes (i think theyre 7's...maybe 6's?) sounds fine though. ill retube it one day, but right now its kickin' hard and i dont really see a need to. when i do retube though itll probably sound 10x's better! LOL i think mine was made sometime around 92...still goin' strong!

Yup thats right, Peavey Super 6's! On the fan, inside mine theres a date stamped 3/7/1989. So im guessing mine was made in 89? Unless somebody deliberately placed an old fan inside mine :D

It sounds great with the stock tubes, so i think you are right in thinking its gonna sound huge after a Re-Tube!

Also the 3 preamp tubes inside were one ECC83 and i think the other two are 12AT7's? Mine were still workin fine so i left them alone.

It's in a pre/power setup, it's for our other guitarist... I ended up putting it together for him.
