old timer here still using the plastic slide locks built into the straps.
my 335 slip out of one and I caught it before it hit floor
why take chances anymore

i wish they sold the guitar end by the dozen. this way one strap does me good and i wouldn't have have to but multiple sets at $28 each

I watch Ebay and Reverb, they pop up once in a while for really cheap, although I use the Dunlop dual locks on my Guitars.

I got super lucky and found 4 sets on FB for like 40 bucks.
I think the Dunlops are kinda better but whatever. And the D'addarios are also a lil more flush to the body. But whatever.

I always preferred the Schaller unless it was on a V where the button is on the back. I had high hopes for the D'addario ones, but the first set I got failed on me. I rebuilt them and sold them, and they failed on that guy too. I rebuilt them twice. Maybe I just got a bad set?

You can buy the strap button separately on Amazon, or most guitar parts suppliers sell them. I buy no name ones but use better quality screws. The screws that come with them are made of cheese.

im a little discouraged with amazon due to counterfeits. but if i see it from a genuine music store id buy a few

I've been using the Grover version... I believe you can get the buttons separately too.

I historically have used Schallers, but don't really care for the S-Locks because of the integrated screw is asking for problems (and really hogs out the hole for the button, so you need to toothpick and glue to go back to stock buttons for sale), and some of the S-Locks I've gotten get jammed on the buttons and will actually rotate the button out instead of the lock rotating freely on the button.
