I had this pedal in my hands the other day and have heard nothing but good reviews,I guess the flashback regular is out the door!!! Oh Happy Birthday!!
Thanks man!! I wouldn't say the Flashback is out the door, it's a great delay pedal but the X4 just so much better!

Better tone wise? Aren't all these tone printable the same?

bump
I didn't see this post. As far as tone goes it's the same. The analog delay is better one this then the regular FB.I like anlog delay's but I really didn't care for the FB but this one is better sounding to me. I also thing the modulated delays is better. This is all just my opinion also, I'm glad I made the change to this pedal.

strum tempo > tap tempo
Not for me. I use a single Boss FS-5U to simultaneously set all of my time based effects. Songs are inevitably going to change tempo live and being able to tap anytime, even while playing, without having to hold anything down, is ideal and is what I'm used to .

I've been using a DD-20 pretty much since they launched and haven't found anything yet to cause my eyes to wander...

did more experimenting with mine last night and i must say tc did a great job taking the original to the next level for live use.
anyone with a taste for 2290, echoplex, or analog type boss dm or maxon pedal delays should really at least check this pedal out.

i'm refining my 3 presets;
1=always on for my crunchy/rock sounds
this is the one i seem to tweak with the most. i've gone between the space, analog, and dynamic presets and i think at the end of the day i like space echo set lightly for this sound because it melts away more naturally.

2=dotted eighth/quarter U2 echo
again the space echo preset is the one for me-i really get a bunch of mileage out of that new preset!
the 2290 with modulation is also great for this sound, but the modulation can get a bit too much on sustained notes and wash into a digital chorus type sound as the repeats are very pristine versus the decay of the space echo

3=long ethereal echoplex
EP3 pgs toneprint has been the one i've used the most/longest since owning the original and it's just a great echoplex sound. the trick is to get it prominent enough with the delay level control so that the repeat is very obvious yet not overpowering the original note, and that the feedback is long enough to allow the repeats to warble and modulate without overdoing it. i have this one set to the dotted 8th/quarter subdivision position for the multi-head vibe and it's nice........

All I really need is this and a modulation pedal of some sort, and I'm set. I'm not a big effects guy, so this will fit the bill.
