It made me happy and sad all at the same time ?
I hadn’t watched it in quite a while but damn, if in Ep IV certain moments still got me emotional and suddenly I was 7 again. That title intro, the music…happy place
EP 1-3 missed the mark (worst thing about them is how dull and boring they are) and everything since Force Awakens has basically been total shit, except Rogue One which is just OK but shines, being made amongst shit. It’s been somewhat entertaining watching Disney get blasted for Acolyte.
It’s also just a damn shame there isn’t an official Blu-Ray release of the OT in its theatrical versions The additions are still so distracting and a few ruin important character moments. Everyone knows the, Greedo shooting first travesty, but one I hadn’t seen before was in EP 6 as Vader grabs the Emperor to toss him, he wails Nooo as if they’re trying to strengthen the moment in EP 3 that everyone just lambasts when he cries out at the end as he emerges in the Vader armor. Ugh and the damn Hayden Christensen force ghost at the end ?‍♂️

Current Star Wars makes you wonder how did this become a cultural phenomenon but I got a nice reminder today. Just some good ol’ fashioned Good vs. Evil, presented with expert craftsmanship and loving care.

Agreed and well-said brother.

The first 3 releases will likely never be topped IMHO.

FWIMBW The Empire Strikes Back is the crème de la crème IMHO. :worship:

The first season of The Mandalorian and the first season of Andor were about the only bright spots since the OT. I'm looking forward to more Andor, but The Mandalorian has turned into garbage. The Acolyte was a particularly abysmal low point.

I can’t remember exactly because there’s been too many moments in a few shows where I felt fan despair but I think it was Obi Wan that broke me. You have Ewen McGreggor and Vader will be in it and still make such garbage. I saw that they truly don’t know Star Wars and just good writing in general. I didn’t watch a minute of Acolyte and will not watch a minute of any more Star Wars until there’s major change in Lucasfilm at Disney.

Yup, I won't be watching Acolyte either bro'.

It'll be the first non-cartoon / CGI Star Wars series or film that I miss.

I couldn’t even finish Ahsoka. I think the biggest through thread I’ve seen in these shows is severe dullness. Bland, pedestrian meandering. No life, no spark. Throw in terrible writing and…..it really makes you wonder what creative talent do these huge budgets pay for? Regular people who have some decent Star Wars knowledge can throw together amazing ideas for content, even trilogy’s etc in 10 minutes but people getting paid 100’s of 1000’s of dollars can’t come up with anything worth a fuck over months.
Goes double for Marvel and DC.

DEI hires would explain it bro'.

There's been a lot of that in Hollywood lately. There's a bunch of rules in-place to ensure it happens across-the-board, in every department.

There’s really no other reason. I just don’t understand why a company that is trying to appeal to so many, has so taken on the mantle of social messaging to such a detriment to its content and its fans, it’s reputation and it’s profits. I guess in their ivory bubble they truly feel they’ll be on the right side of history or some nonsense? We usually complain about bean counters ruining art, but if ever there was a need for a bean counter to step in and mess with art, it’s with Lucasfilm and Marvel. Stat!

I'm pretty-sure that's how these CEO's and whatnot think.

Snow Brown incoming early next year IIRC, so the pain for Disney will continue. They ditched the non-dwarf diversity hire for the dwarves and opted for CGI instead. I'm sure the real dwarf actors are chuffed about that.

Interesting how the people who say a Latino has to play a Latino and a gay man has to play a gay man but those poor little people. It’s only the most iconic little people characters of all time alongside Time Bandits and those poor performers and actors salivate at the idea of a Snow White movie, one of the only high profile gigs they might get and Disney’s like…nah we’ll just CGI that shit. Real live action. Can’t wait for A.I. to come for all the righteous folks and watch them cry as their work dries up to nothing.

My favorites in order would be:

Empire
Star Wars OG
Attack of the Clones
Rogue
don't care after that

But yeah, the CGI, scene 'updates', and upcoming AI are ruining it

How is it that the "Star Wars Holiday Special" is not at the top of everyone's list?

I usually like to shrink the pictures that I post as a courtesy, but is there a way to make this one larger?
