Went to the Ted Nugent concert tonight. He was awesome. Brought my bass player with me who mainly listens to modern hardcore stuff and even he thought Ted kicked ass. He played through a 6505+ and kicked on a wah and phaser every once in a while, wasn't close enough to the stage to see what kind they were though. At the end of the show he shot a flaming arrow at his guitar, it was awesome. Derek St. Holmes came in near the end and sang for a couple of songs and man can that guy sing, especially for his age. Here's some pics I took.

Haha they were the best i could do with my iPhone and being a foot shorter than everyone around me   The show was indeed awesome.

Nicely done...
I love Ted Nugent, a true hard rock pioneer. Ted always had most excellent tone.

Good old Ted! Seen him three times, never fails to put on a good show.

Ted still brings it! But the blow me away is always Derek. His voice just kills at his age and he doesn't have to change the song to fit his failing voice!

I'm a big fan of Ted's. I've seen him probably 6 times now. At the House of Blues in Chicago he came out at the end of the night riding a buffalo and dressed like an indian chief. Ted still knows how to put on a good show and he can definately tear it up on guitar.

My god he has a wicked live tone . Crystal clear ,sustain for days

That's what I was thinking, on the mid section of strangle hold is a prime example

Are you sure he was actually playing through the half stacks? I ask because my son gave me the DVD of Ted's 6000th concert in Michigan on July 4, 2008 for my birthday and I noticed that the pilot lights for Ted's half stacks weren't even on. I think he simply played through the Peavey Classic 50 2x12 behind him. And, when he wanted to let the Byrdland do its thing, he got close to the Classic 50.

Granted, there is another amp of some sort off stage (that's were the feedback is coming from at the end of the Great White Buffalo clip in the 2008 DVD) and it could be anything.

No real good shots of Ted's pedalboard in that video either...can make out a Wah (probably a CryBaby) something blue (Boss Chorus perhaps (he's admitted to using a chorus in the past)), something orange (Phase 90 or maybe a Boss DS-1). He did step on some pedal that was deeper than a chorus...either a flanger or a phase shifter.

My love of Ted's playing came from the good old days when the Byrdland fed a wall of Fender Twins sitting on Dual Showman 2x15 cabinets (all loaded with EV SROs) with no junk in between. It wasn't until Paralyzed that he started using a Cry Baby on stage and it was brought on for that song and then taken away immediately after.

I'm toying of going to see Ted this month at the House of Blues in Chicago... I haven't seen him in a while and it's about time!

Uncle Ted has been rockin my world since I first got Free For All in 1977 for my 14th birthday. I didnt play guitar back then but I sure as hell loved guitar rock and Ted was a prime example...

Its so cool to see him rockin out 35yrs later

Oh yeah! Seen Theodore many times. Always a great time!

I've seen Sweaty Teddy 3 times over the years, and he's always been awesome. A fun show to watch, for sure.
