Yeah, I think that all of the JVM detractors gave up a awhile ago....

Im not looking to try the Beer Spill test either, Ill just have to trust you on that one

I want that YJM bad but funds are rather tight right now.

really? I never would have thought that amp would have held any interest for you... If you said AFD head, I could see that but then again, you have alot fo that covered with that glorious Fortin SLP head of yours...

IMHO, I think that the JVM ranks as one of Marshalls top 5 production heads of all time. It has tons of classic and vintage Marshall tones in it coupled with really cool, useable modern features. Sure, PTP snobs may differ but none of that matters to me, the amp accomplishes what it sets out to do in stellar fashion..

1959 specs with built in boost, gate, studio reverb, power scaling?

That amp IMO is awesome, everything you always wanted in a stock plexi type amp. Genius IMO and who knows what Fortin can do with that amp ;)
It isn't a straight 1959 spec, this much I can tell you. The preamp has several differences...

My buddy had nothing but issues with his JVM, but he bought it used. Not tube issues either.

Your one good JVM does not make all JVMs good, just like my friend's one bad one does not make all JVM's junk.
Same here but my buddy bought brand new. He wanted me to list here and I said no way...homo don't roll like that

I personally cant stand the JVM and think it sounds like utter ass...and yes I've played more than just my buddy's ;) I also saw a band playing one night and one guy had a 410 and the other had an 800 and that old 800 just sounded sooooo much better in all aspects

go ahead...flame me
My other guitar players JVM hangs with my QuickRod just fine. I think it's a killer sounding amp!

I will find out soon enough

I look at it for what it is, a workhorse good amp that I am not afraid to dump the contents of my slide into

Yeah...........the famous plastic shaft, knobs falling off, PCB, computer, does nothing great is 4 years old now and is just now getting it's first power tube change after approx 150+ jams at gig volumes now passes the beer spill test.

Used a beer for a slide and slammed the bottle a tad too hard back on the amp and created a rather amusing fountain that I only saw due to the drummer laughing his ass off pointing with one stick

No fireworks, just a sticky Crunch button that has been cleaned up and still rolling.

Yeah, the JVM is cheap said the flippers and internet knitting circles.........................

Bullshit

A rather amusing story but without video I'm not buying a word of it as fact.

I could send the front part of the headshell, the cloth covered part for a sniff, best I can do at this time though.

If I wanted to really paihnt a picture I could have mentioned the whole part about me yelling oh shit and ripping off my tee shirt to soak the beer up.

Wife still wonders what happens at the creepy middle aged guy jams after that............

Send it. You know how to reach me. A nose knows.

I found that on my JVM410H there were only about four usable channels, and my QR does all of those tones better. Not saying the JVM is a bad or bad-sounding amp, but there are things I don't understand. I bought my 410H when they first came out for $1600, which was right around MAP at the time. After they introduced the 2-channel models, price on the 410H jumped up to like $2399. WTF? Same amp, just pushed MAP up to accommodate the price range you wanted the 210's to be in. That's B.S. in my opinion. The 410 should have stayed in the 1700 range and the 2xx series should have been around 900-1400.
