Here's why I was looking forward to this guitar. Check out Pete's video. Straight into a Plexi, it is pure and authentic tone that we all recognize.

Wow, it does sound great in those clips. Definatly a clean sounding lp and as he says , it does remind me of a tele a tad bit in some of those clips.

A Les Paul with its usual beefy low end, rich midrange, coupled with an uncommonly Tele-like stringy, open and defined top end, instead of the typical muted and dark tonality of your average off the self modern day LP, is the classic Gibson tone desired by so many and achieved on countless classic recordings.

That's bullshit and everyone knows it.
You need to return that and have a new one ASAP.
Or. Just get you money back and let him fix the guitar himself.

I would have to agree with this. If you spent 10k on a guitar and it shows up broken, it goes right back to where it was shipped from and you get your money back. If you can afford throwing 10k at a guitar you can afford a lawyer if the guy gives you any shit about it.

I would never buy a high-end guitar that's had a busted headstock, FWIW; if for no other reason than I know it will be a bitch to get rid of when I inevitably get bored with it.

Hell, I wouldn't send a $200 chinese knock off to any of you guys packed this way. How he hasn't lost guitars before me, I have no clue. But, one 2-3 foot bounce off a floor on the headstock end of the case and it would probably snap it. Hell, I am surprised the neck wasn't broken. I had Fedex look at it and they just laughed. Claim denied and you know what - I don't really blame them. But, not sure which leg it would have gotten fucked up on in the shipping.

Had I known this, I would have sent a fucking case, box and packing material to ship in. . But, I can see how it happened and there's nobody to blame but the one who packed it.

That's the irony is that you're well known as a good person to deal with who knows how to pack stuff right. You would never have done anything remotely close to this.
Does this count as its first "whiskey dent"?

Today I got my Mesa 4x12 Oversized.

I bought it from a musician and remembering what happened to Steve I asked him to make a dummies proof package and protect the grill, since this cab is going to travel 450km.

He just put the bubble wrap around the cab twice and shipped it without a box or anything protecting the grill!

God had mercy and it arrived in one piece!

Wow! I have seen that before. You could buy exactly 36.6 Mesa Oversized 2x12 for what a Gil Scabron costs.
