Keith Merrow just posted his new album plus a video! The writing and production is killer. The album is available for a "set your price" deal, and I think he deserves any support people can give. The dude flat out rocks!

As for the guitars on the album, almost everything was recorded with the Colossus demo amp. There are some Axe clean/effected parts in addition to some Kemper tones. The funny thing is the Kemper stuff was a profile of the Colossus. :lol: :LOL: The guest solos were recorded with each guy's respective rigs, but I don't have all those details as of yet...

Jeff Loomis FTW on the ending solo!

 
Meh..... thoroughly disappointed... I'm a huge Merrow fan and this isn't anywhere near his best work... will probably still pick up the album though...

.... Loomis rocked as always, that's pretty much like saying water is wet though...

Thanks for posting though, did he JUST post this? Because I Was literally on his page watching the Rhodes playthrough like 2 hours ago...
 
I only have 1 other Merrow album - The Arrival, but I like this song. Nice 7 string tone too.

Is it possible that Loomis is too good at playing guitar?
 
The album is really solid IMO. Just bought it last night, and I really love it. He also remixed one of his older tunes (Pillars of Creation-one of my favs!) and it sounds really killer now!

I honestly think his writing has improved and matured since his Arrival days and I like these tracks as much as his Stone King tunes. Keith's rhythm chops are insane! He does some shit with his right hand that not many metal guys can do.

Top-Romulan is among the best he's ever done, The two-part Andromeda just crushes and N.O.o.B.E. is killer too. Some of the best metal I've heard in a LONG time. :rock: His best guitar tones to date also.
 
I honestly think it kills. I love every minute of it and have been playing the shit out of it since last night... :rock:

It's been a few days since release, and after listening to the album a number of times, I think my favorite track is Andromeda II. There are some seriously heavy and catchy riffs throughout -- and the tones and harmonic content in the slower parts are addicting to me, if that makes any sense. So rich, tight, and huge sounding!

Shortly after receiving the demo amp back in March, Keith put together a metal test song and posted a video. This ultimately evolved into the Top Romulan track on the new EP, another killer tune. In case you haven't seen it:

If you email Keith directly you may be able to get something better than 320kbs MP3s. I assume he wouldn't want to post them publicly as he might reach a transfer quota much more easily...
