I have been looking into Keith Richards guitar rig.

wow! I have no idea what's in it but I always figured him for guitar/chord/amp guy.

I know.
Tell me about it.
Its a pretty complicated rig for a fairly basic sound.
That is what has intrigued me to try and work out what is in it.
So any help from you guys identifying any of the units I am stuck on would be cool

I'm guessing the only cats who know what he has is his tech and Dave Friedman.
I doubt KR knows.

I'm guessing either formaldehyde or a tiny dude that plays all his parts for him. :D

JK, try posting this in the Friedman forum.

I'm willing to bet he has no clue how any of that stuff works.

Im 100% sure like you guys say that Keith has no clue how any of this stuff works.
You also said I should post this in the Dave Friedman rack systems forum.
Can I just transfer this post to there?
If so how or do I just have to start another post in there?

Keith is covered by AAA

A crack pipe.

A bottle of Jack.

A defibrulator.

Watch out, he'll kick your ass for saying that.

Well this thread shows how little people know about Keef. The man is far from stupid. If you buy into the image ..... what ever.

He switches around what he uses often. I own some of his old gear. No shred, .... but has written more and better hooks than most alive and dead. As far as rhythm guitar goes only people like Malcolm Young are close to what he has done and he well never catch up. I am sure he understands hooks and groove more than anyone on this thread and probably the forum.

Whats in his rack ..... I would not guess.

Ron was the one with a crack habit .... not keef.

I don't know how smart he is, or whether he knows how that rack works, but the songwriting team of Jagger/Richard is the greatest in the history of rock music to me. These albums, released in a row, are the the greatest body of work in rock music:

Beggar's Banquet
Let It Bleed
Sticky Fingers
Exile On Main Street

Not to mention throwing in one of the best live rock albums ever during those years in "Get Yer Ya Yas Out!"...

Then go back before that to ridiculous gems like "Ruby Tuesday, "Paint It Black", etc... The list goes on and on... Greatest rock band and rock songwriting team ever and everyone can have their Beatles as far as I'm concerned... I like my rock with some evil...

Steve

Sticky Fingers turned me on to the Stones. Bitch - what a riff. Saw many a stripper dance to that song in Norfolk. There was one that really liked Hearbreaker..... she worked those quiet spots... and in a case of mistaken identity.

I wish I knew Keith rules especially his live tone. I like that better than some of the albums even. I still have a feeling he uses smaller combos for a lot of things. There are so many amps on stage its hard to tell. I don't have a clue but I dig it.

He used a Mesa Mark I combo from 77 till 93. Since then it was tweed Fender Twin's. These were the main amps during these periods. Before that Fender, Vox and Hiwatt.

Dude, Keef died along time ago along with Whitney Houston.

Dude, you don’t have a clue - you're clueless.
This is the walking zombies real main rig.
