As much as I love discussing all things Lynch...I love some of those Keith Urban tones also....He puts on a great concert with amazing tone ! These vids are long but enjoyable!

Ha! "That's pretty much what we got". Brilliant. Interesting that he kept the Suhr, and left the Dumble at home.

Anyway... Awesome musician, guitarist and singer. Such a complete package that it makes me a little sick. I believe he could hold his own against many-a-respected guitar virtuoso.

My favorite musician today! Best live tone in the business in my opinion! Great singer, player, songwriter, and overall entertainer. Seeing him in October for the 3rd time, I really can't wait!!!

Thanks for posting!

He seems like a great guy, but I find his albums so bland and boring. Tunes are so Nashville cheese. Unlistenable for me. :aww:

Great player though, for sure.

I know that his rig is constantly changing but nonetheless some things surprised me:
-The MXR Distortion III is still in there
-No more Scumback cabs/speakers
-Didn't see the Fulltone Fulldrive 2

Great to see Chris Miller still there too!!! :D

Does anyone know when he ditched the BadCats? Or was this something I made up?

He hasn't used badcats on a regular basis for awhile now. He began using matchless after the badcats.

WTF, he doesn't use Charvel's or CCV's? Not interested.

Kidding!!!!!!!!

Keith Urban has an insane guitar collection, and a great ear for tone. I will agree that a lot of his songs are on the lighter poppy side, but the production and performance are top notch.

I would write a few poppy songs in return for a private jet too...

cool stuff. I'm not a fan of his music, just not my style. but it's always interesting to see how other guitar player have their rig setup, especially a talent like Keith.

thanks for sharing!

I'd bet against this guy with Joe Bossamanna's live tone any day. Joe kills live.

+1

To think what he could do if he didn't worry about sales. I wish he would do an alter ego/band thing that really ditched the cheese and was just a full on rock/old school country monster. It's a shame that all the talent in Nashville is just wasted and dashed upon the rocks of top 40 bullshit.

Everytime I watch crossroads on Palladia, you see the country artist play along with the awesome classic rock guest and it's great and then you see the classic rock icon have to play along with most inane pop song with rhymy lyrics about breakin hearts and love my truck or leave and act in the interviews like it's an honor to play that shit with the face of the month.

I like both but prefer Keith also...all subjective...no right or wrong

I've been a fan of Keith's guitar work for the last 6-7 years; he's a monster player that does holds back. Interestingly enough he did a CMT Crossroads with John Mayer (another popular musician/songwriter who let's his guitar skills take a back seat) and those guys tastefully tore it up. I come from the Satriani, Vai, VH school of playing but I do have a lot of respect for Mayer and Urban, regardless of the vehicle to which they wish to convey their guitar skills. Awesome video on a breakdown of his rig.

Joe's tone has not been the same since he switched brands of sunglasses. Keith is great!!
