So I am tempted to buy one second hand.
I want a good quality sound that I can use through headphones or studio monitors for late night playing.

I have nice tube amps but I want something that can pull off the sound of a tube amp for practice via headphones.

If anyone knows of something better let me know, if anyone has anything good or bad to say about the Kemper please tell!

Thanks,
Jon

If you have the money, why not I suppose. That is a pretty expensive headphone amp. You would probably want to get some really nice headphones. Or, you could just buy a used POD and get your late night jam on.

Do it. I love mine and have been using it for several years now. Get GOOD profiles. Mbritt, Berts profiles (BM), Top Jimi. Profiles make all the difference.

I'm sorry... I can't. Best gear purchase I've ever made.

Why not just buy a torpedo live? I have seen some deals on them used for $600-$700. You can use your heads loaded down and the unit has a built in headphone jack. The unit even has reverbs built in now.

Please tell me more I'm a bit slow with this new technology

I had Kemper for years and it is a sensational piece for late night jamming.
OI wanted to start using my amps more so I switched to Torpedo LIVE (which is much cheaper too)
Either choice is golden

Kemper if you're looking to add some different sounds to your rig, Torpedo Live if you want your normal sound but quieter/with headphones. The Kemper would add some versatility to your rig on top of working great for silent practice. The Torpedo Live would give you a very accurate representation of your tone at lower volumes.

Hey Jon. The Torpedo Live is a load box and digital cabinet sims, all in one piece of gear. So you can plug a head into the unit without a real cab, and the Torpedo will act as a load and then add a cabinet sim. And you can then listen to it with headphones or with a full range cab. Run the amp as hard as you want, but set the listening volume to whatver you want with the Torpedo.

I think the Torpedo VB101, which is more expensive than the Live, let's you load two heads at once? So maybe you could run both your Marshall and one side of the VH4S at the same time with a single unit. But I can't remember if that's right.

Thanks for the help guys!
I grabbed a two notes live for $600!

Nice! My favorite cab is is the Friedman v30 cab with the sm57. I ended up always liking the two notes cabs more than third part ir's. I just have never been able to get them to jive with the live.

I purchased mine new and i do not regret paying full price.

You're in for a big disappointment man.

I like mine :dunno:

I've heard a bunch of raw clips.
Sounds pretty good to me! For $600 at least I can play and record late night!
Doesn't have to be amazingly perfect.

Torpedo Live all the the way! Keep the tone you love from your amps and enjoy! I've had a couple of Kemper units over the years and am much happier with with Two-Notes unit. The optional cabs they have are amazing!
