Well actually it's like the 10th!!!

I have really gotten into fuzz and other various pedals over the last year and a half. I really have been needing a good clean pedal platform amp but figured "why not try using the Kemper with a good base clean with my Fryette Power Station and Splawn cabs.

Anyway, tried a bunch of profiles and realized I was not driving my cab hard enough to get a decent recording. Got it up to stage volume and sounded much better. Used one of Michael Britt's Divided By 13 profiles with my Earthquaker Devices Zap Machine which is basically a 2 channel fuzz.

Profile name:

Guitar is the PRS SC245 w/the 57/08 buckers

The mic is a ribbon mic I borrowed from a forumite to test out. I wanted a mic that would do a good job capturing more "in-room" type clips. It is actually about 1' away from the cab which sounded better than being close mic'd.

To be honest, I am just not a fan of the Zap Machine. Too bad as I have wanted one for at least a year. Perhaps I'll like it better with single coils? Anyway this isn't a perfect clip but I think there is potential for this type of use with the Kemper.

There is some Kyuss and Grand Magus in this clip as well as showing some noodling and playing with the guitars volume. Started on the Green channel of the Zap then switched to the Red.

Anyway, I wasn't too sold on this clip initially but now listening back, I think my idea of using the Kemper this way instead of buying an amp just for pedals might work out ok. Tried a Klon clone right after and it sounded REALLY good. I'll try and get that uploaded later.

A tube screamer works good in front of the Kemper. I like to profile without it and add it in after. I'm sure the other pedal types would work just as well. That is a super clean rig you have.
