Kemper folks...running live cab and direct???

Quick question for my fellow Kemper owners. I have a Kemper and thus far , I have just been running it through my cabs , like an amp. I find a patch that I like , then simply turn off the speaker/cab sim. Do you have to find specific profiles to run live cabs without a cab sim , and direct to PA with cab sim? I am a 100% newb with this thing , so please excuse my dumb questions

Merged profiles are suppose to be ideal with solid state amps/guitar cabs and direct to the PA. If you have found the sound you need that is all that matters. Some of the factory profiles are merged like Deadlights EVH.

My understanding is that you can create profiles with a mic'd cab or straight from an amp's line out. Ideally, you'd use the mic'd cab profile with the PA and the line-out profile into a cab. But there seem to be lots of ways to make it all sound great.

I run into a 1x12 w/ evm12L speaker
I've settled on the Fryette Power station to power it


I definitely like the vibe of a real cab for stage volume and running direct to the PA

unfortunately in LA, many clubs will not let me go direct...so I've had to be loud and make my own sound project ..old school
very frustrating as I know it'd sound better direct
