Ralph, I'm assuming you're using yours live. How are you running it?

Sorry guys, to be honest, def not my favourite profile or sound from an 800 at all. Not blaming anyone because it came straight out of the kemper. Not being anal because it is jsut what I hear and my JCM800 doesn't have what i am hearing on the low end. I heard some really good ones on a pay site the other day though. If I can find them I'll post a link for comparison. Those were pretty impressive.

OI get what you are saying here. I will also say I have heard three JCM800s side by side and all three sounded different as well. I guess it comes down to taste. I personally like it.

I recorded this one with my favorite JCM800 profile with a boost in front. Sounds great to my ears.

No man, That's totally cool and I totally hear you. Not everyone is going to like that tone. With that said and I can tell you this as a fact because I own a kemper.. If you profiled your exact jcm800 with your speaker cab, you will capture EXACTLY what you like.

I can see that because what goes in is what comes out of the kemper from what I understand. I am not saying i don't like the kemper i am probably saying i don't like the profile they captured. These were the ones I liked : http://www.theampfactory.com/ So yeah, definitely I see what Wagener is talking about. Wonder if he would share his small tweaks he uses afterwards. Would be interesting to hear.

I totally agree with you. To be honest with you, I HATE and I mean Hate 98% of the profiles on the Kemper but when you get a good one or do your own, you will have a HUGE smile on your face :) You quickly will learn that the best profiles usually come from guys who always get a great recorded tone. (that has been my findings)

I'm actually going to purge most of the profiles that I have and only keep a few select ones that I like.

I have done exactly this. I have less than 100 profiles on my Kemper. Some have hundreds. I only have the ones I want with a couple of variations on mics, cabs, channels etc.

Best way to go IMHO and it makes the boot up go faster :)

I'm sorry, I really can't listen to that clip because of all of the aliasing that's going on plus I can hear that you used 1.60 software and the highs are utterly disgusting.

I'm not too in the loop of the whole version change, but am aware of some controversy. I listened to a couple clips sent to me from ejecta and heard a slight change in the high end. I couldn't tell a difference without having to squint rear hard and I thought what I heard was for the better. Hell, it might even have been my imagination. But in no way did I hear something that was a significant change.

Unless there are some frequencies in between my old ears and what dogs can hear that are completely botched, I am lost at why people are complaining.

I agree with you 100%
I heard the clips posted and pissed myself laughing. I'm mean....Even if you DO hear a difference in those clips, It was so small that i was definitely like are you F&**& kidding me?

Not so fast fellas...... some guys are bringing out the anal probes. :D

The green line is 1.5.4 and the magenta line is 1.6.0. The pretty much overlap in average but you can see that are not identical. The red line is the differential matching EQ that Ozone calculates to make the 1.6.0 track to sound like 1.5.4 track on average. If Ozone does not lie and I am doing it correctly you can see for example that the high end on 1.6.0 is more pronounced since the differential matching EQ is progressively going down in that area.

But that will mess with his anal-lyzer results. :D

Seriously though people said the same thing you did but they still claim it sounds different. I tell you what though... I'm so glad I'm not wired that way and don't hear and hyper obsess over these things.

Just for shits and grins this would be cool to do on a tube amp at three different times during the day. I would imagine the voltage variation during the day may cause that much difference.
