Hey all. I promised a video and thought I would put one together quickly. I thought I would try a vid that compared the Kemper's direct tones vs mic'ing my cab. The cab has V30s and double mic'ed with a Shure 57 and Sennheiser e609. I wanted to do a clip with just the room sound as this thing sounds fantastic in the room with the Matrix GT 800FX. The first run through is direct and the second with mics.

I played the Harem Scarem tune Mandy. Sorry but I left my flubs in there (not as much gain to hide my playing but I love the tone). I used The Amp Factory's Marshall JCM800 profile for this clip. It is a killer profile. Not a ton of gain by any means. I know my vids aren't the quality that Fluff (Ryan) and Mark Day's are but here you go nonetheless.

Audio version of the direct clip:

Rockin Chad! I like the mic'd one just a tad more. both sound great though.

Last bump. I know I may not be using as much gain as you like but this Kemper is a pretty cool piece of technology. I'll get some more "Rig-Talk" friendly clips going.

BTW, give me some recommendations that you would like to hear. I will work on it over the next couple of weeks.

Cool tones!

For my request, I'd like to hear you do "Fives" by Guthrie Govan!

Wow, very cool demo. I have to say I actually liked the direct sound better...more vocal sounding to me.

There are lots of Amp Factory JMC800 profiles, which one did you use? Also, what tweaking did you do to the profile if any? :)

Yes, I like the di better too! Cool axe and solid playing!

I liked the direct clip better...I really hate the sennheiser gtr mics.

I'm not familiar with the band or tune, but the tone on the direct clip sounds good and the playing is cool. Nice top on the gtr too!

Very nice....

Just got my kemper today...so far really excellent piece of gear... :)

cool clip and good playing

Pete Lesperance is a great guitar player. One of my best buddys was in HS before Pete and recommended Pete to replace him. He has a thank you in the 1st album liner notes as well. Saw them many times in Toronto area. They used to open with Comin At You Live (Tesla). Great band - they had a lot of success in Japan.

Nice work, Chad

Count me as another that liked the direct clip better.

Mic'd clip by far IMO. The girth and breath of the tone is more natural. I think it sat better in the mix. Both rocked though!
