Just talked to a friend and he told me one of his clients was using a Kemper in the studio. I gave him my input on my Axe EX 2. Does any one have both and if so which one do you prefer better?

Thanks

You can only be on one team. One or the other will suck. Owning both would cause a disturbance in the force.

What if they both suck?

Reliable sources indicate this is unpossible.

Well, somewhat reliable sources.

Actually, a guy I met at the amp show told me that.

OK, I actually ran into the guy on the street. He was homeless.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think it was actually a guy.

What's the topic again?

I believe it was female to male transgender homeless folks, no?

Ah, yeah, so I'm not sure I've ever met one, but if I did I'd be certain to ask if (s)he had an opinion on the Kemper vs. Axe FX II.

Sometimes I really like this forum! Especially when it involves transgender gear.

Too funny, the only reason I was asking is becasue Keith Urban was using the Kemper to track with and I thought he had a AXE FX 2. I love my Axe FX

The Book of Digits (Digimonomous 14:3) states "... thus what is used last shall be best."

Please make a note of it.

The truth is both are very good....I have both....amp tones can be stellar with either....the Axe2 has way more options but that doesn't matter to some folks....the KPA is more plug and play if you find the right profiles. The Axe2 is as easy or as complicated as you make it..........

The Kemper profiles are snapshots of amps at certain settings, so varying from those tonestack settings won't give a tone that's true to the amp that's profiled, but can still have good results.
The Axe2 has the full range of an amps tonestack built in to the model, so when making adjustments it is true to how the original amp would sound/react.

For most people it comes down to workflow/design preference........the Axe2 does take a little more time to wrap your head around at first........but the rewards are great.

The Kemper can definitely be easier for some people to adapt to quickly & has some great sounding profiles.

I'm afraid bad things are coming your way. You should not have messed with the force.

lol......yeah I know, it's either a camp Edward or camp Jacob world

I recently acquired the Axe 2 again. Have played the heck out of it for weeks. Was hooked on the Severe amp model...Engl Savage. Then the other day I plugged back into my trusty Kemper. I love both but if I had to choose one it would be Kemper. It just has this friendly natural feel ..more than the Axe.. not selling the Axe tho..

Lots of Axe profiles available on the Kemper community board. Forward those files over to Fractal so they can emulate that on the next update and then you are set

Thats great to hear the feedback on the feel I was hoping it was not as good as the AXE FX arrrrrr, I hope the update does offer some more things. I love the HBE amp in the Axe though. Does anyone have the Cameron CCM patch for a AXE, I like that tone alot alot alot alot ......

Excellent and fair summary. If I owned one I would not feel any need to own the other; they are both state of the art systems/products and cover nearly identical ground.

Plus, as Bob implies, you risk them asploding like matter and antimatter if they touch.

Sometimes you just have to fly into the center of the Death Star with abandon

Bob is obviously one who has taken the time differentiate these tremors in the force.
Can you tell which unit caused the tremor?
If I turn on both at the same time, what happens? maybe I'l try that tonight :D

If I don't return, remember me fondly for the one who took chances and played HARD

I would strongly suggest that you don't even attempt this. You've probably got a headache right now from just thinking about it.

Why would you want the Axe to sound like a Kemper? To me they are very different beasts.
