I'm considering a somewhat basic build on one of these Kiesel Aries in the future and can't decide on which headstock I'd rather have. Which do you prefer? I'm leaning toward the reversed, but not completely sure.

Here are the options I'm looking at on the build so far:

Maple Neck/Alder Body
Clear Gloss Finish
Gunmetal Gray Metallic
Pointed Straight 6 Inline Reverse Headstock
Headstock To Match Body Finish
Ebony Fingerboard Black (No Streaking)
No Top Inlays - Side Dots Only
White Side Dots
Stainless Jumbo Frets .055" H .110"
14in Fretboard Radius
Kiesel Passive Lithium Bridge Pickup
Kiesel Passive Lithium Neck Pickup
Black Pickups
Black Hardware
Black Logo

Without a doubt. End of thread

STICK A FOR IN IT - REVERSE OR GTFO!!!!

Well, that didn't take long! ;)

Thanks, everyone....my gut was telling me reverse, but I could probably live with any of them really. But, reverse does seem to suit that particular guitar.

It flows much better with the guitar's design. Looks killer actually. A sway from the Suhr camp?

Well, I've actually been settling into other brands for a while now, just for the sake of variety. But, I still have three Suhr Moderns that are still my number ones as well as a Rasmus (Suhr) Standard S200. Besides that, I have a Music Man Reflex, two LPs, and two PRS S2's....one of which I just received but haven't posted a ngd yet. I would not be against getting another Suhr one day, that's for sure.

Personally I think they all look like shit, get a vader... That said the reverse is the best of the three.

+0.5 'like shit' is probably a bit strong for me, but they look like the Dean headstock they use on the Mustaine to me, and that is not a good thing in any way.

If I had to, given the body style I'd go reversed 6 aside..

The Vader doesn't interest me as I am not a fan of neck throughs. As for the looks, I like'em myself....but only in solid colors and bare wood bodies with no tops. They look a little strange to me with maple tops.

Hate reversed headstocks, changing strings sucks.

Meh...with locking tuners it's really not so bad. :dunno:

I agree...but is reverse somehow an advantage beyond cosmetic looks? Does it offer better tension for the thick strings?

Ye I'd have to go for the reversed one if I had to pick, honestly I dislike every headstock design Carvin offer which is why I've never given any serious consideration to getting one. And that goes for many guitar brands not just Carvin.

 falling off a cliff sound- REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEEERSE. cookoo

I actually like them all and think with certain builds they each are appropriate. I'll probably go reverse on my build. Going to do a pseudo Jem style. Slime green or whatever they call it. Yellow pickups and pink diamond inlays. Total Poison!!!

I'll half agree with everyone else and say to get a reversed, but of the 3+3 headstock (like the one I have on my Carvin DC600C): :)
