Anyone else going? I'll be up in Chicago early, taking care of some stuff, lunch potentially at Kuma's, then hitting the show. Hit me up if you want to meet-up and grab a beer!

Uggggghhhhh....I missed out on seeing them in Houston, TX. Have a beer for me dude!

Saw them a week ago in Billings. That band was on fire. Awesome show.

The show was unreal! Killswitch was fantastic. The crowd sang some of the choruses so loudly they drowned out the band -- it was awesome to hear.

I was fortunate enough to be a guest of Joel's, and my brother and I met up with the band for beers and food beforehand. Prior to that Joel played a few amps and really liked what he heard. It was a tossup between the 6L6 loaded Colossus or Gemini, and I think the Colossus won based on the 4 independent channels. Unfortunately Adam was with a local friend all day, and wasn't able to try anything as a result. Regardless, he will once Joel receives the Colossus he just ordered! :D

After the show we hung on the bus for a bit and then hit the nearby casino bar. It was a late night and early morning, good times, but my head still hurts!

For those interested, here are some pictures from the day.

All loaded up:

Joel's guitar road case. His sig model (left) played and felt so good. It was very light weight and sounded fantastic. It's loaded with EMGs which normally I'm not a huge fan of, but they sounded great in that guitar.

One of my clients is a huge KSE fan and when I asked him if it was cool that I take his amp along, he asked that I have Joel sign it. No problem!

I've got some video of the show I'll upload momentarily...

I haven't listened to KSE in a while, man... I gotta give them some spins. Back when I got my amp built, I sent my builder the three live tracks from the "End of Heartache" bonus disc. I told him that whatever he builds, it needs to be able to sound like this...

It's such a good rhythm tone! I was told the recipe was 5150 and Framus Dragon, both boosted. Both Adam and Joel played every single part on the rhythms through both amps. It took them something like 2 weeks just for the rhythms.

That's what I had heard too. Thanks to them I had GAS for a Framus for a long time, albeit a Cobra. The amp I have is based off the Soldano SLO100 circuit, so it wasn't a problem for him to voice it towards that rhythm tone.

So how many times have you seen KSE? I only saw them once, back around '05 when they were still tearing up the road for "The End of Heartache". I think Soilwork and As I Lay Dying opened. Good show. I'm getting to be a grumpy old man that doesn't get out much anymore.

Sweeeeeeet!

So cool that Joel checked it out. I can't wait to get the Colossus into my rig!

Love those green walls too hahaha

Cool! Who built your amp, out of curiosity?

This was my first time, first of many I imagine. They were fantastic live, plus the open invitation ain't a bad deal either. :D

It was an experience for sure, one I won't soon forget. Now we're very much looking forward to delivering his personal amp, and can't wait to hear what him and Adam do with it.

Your amp is very close, you'll have it in a week!

Those are the walls of one of the lesson rooms at the Plainfield School of Music. My buddy was kind enough to have us out there for the demo. :)

so..do they really use those cheapo laney ironhearts live onstage?

Yes, Laney Ironheart for the distorted tones. They also have Laney UK made combos for the cleans, then A/B. The sound engineer prefers the dual rigs so he can adjust the clean/dirty levels easily...
